Note: I regret the very imperfect account of many of the families scattered through these volumes but if I wait until all are complete I shall never copy them. Years hence, when almost every Family Name shall have its historian and very many of these Family Histories shall be published and found in every Public Library persons will be found who will wonder at the incompleteness, the imperfections and the inaccuracies found in these and other manuscript volumes. We are the pioneers in the work and those who come after us will find their labors the lighter for what we have done in the way of preparing the ground for them to improve and perfect.)
