B. in Milton I June 1820 son of Samuel H. and Eliza (Brazier) Babcock m. in Boston 27 May 1847 Clarissa Louisa Clapp b. in New London, Conn. dau. of Joshua and Clarissa Clapp. He grad. Harv. Coll. 1841 and at Cambridge Divinity School 1844 anu was ordained at Providence, R.I. as an Evangelist 8 Apr. 1846. He preached there about a year and was installed as the Minister of the Unitarian Society in this town 12 May 1847. He continued in that office until 7 Apr.1855 when he sent a letter to the Parish resigning his Pastorate. Both were ad.f.c. 5 June 1847. He was School Committee 1850, '51, '52, '54, They lived at (118) and (36) . From this town they removed to Harvard where he was installed the 18 Nov.1855. There they remained about 1 year and then he became the Pastor of the Ist Parish in South Natick. Thence they went to Scituate where he was installed 16 Sept1860. They remained there about 3 years and since then he has been a Minister at Large in Boston connected with the warren Street Chapel at first as colleague of Rev. Charles Barnard but now the sole Minister.
