He was ad.f.c. 28 Feb. 1748 He was a very prominent man in affairs. Selectman 1752-53, Torn Clerk 1753-54. A Justice of the Peace and a Judge of the Court of Sessions, Deacon in the Church. he was a prime mover in obtaining an Act of incorporation for Fitchburg. This Name is written in various ways, as Densmore, and Densmoor, -Dinsmore and Dinsmoor -Dinsmure-Dunsmore, and Dunsmoor which is the most common way of spelling and I therefore adopt it here. JOEN DUNSMOOR


b. in Scotland 1720. The name does not appear in Savage's N.E. Gen Dic. and I have never met with it at an earlier date than 1700, if quite so early as that, and then only in Lancaster whence the Doctor doubtless came from. Of his early history, and education, I know nothing, and I do not know how early he came here. 17623bought the land and built, see deed in Libray . of datfield, but if she was lle m. ( In.17 Jan .1747) Ruth Fisher b. in H. her birth is not recorded there. They lived at ( 42) He was a Physician of skill and ability, and was long the leading man in nis profession in this vicinity. he was a surgeon in the army during the Revolution. He r.b.c. and was ad.f.c. 1 June 1766. He was frequently chosen for town office and appointed on important committees but he invariably refused to serve.
