ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL REPORT

TOWN OF RANDOLPH, MASSACHUSETTS REPORT OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD

In the 1962 Town Meeting when the members adopted a re- vised Personnel By-Law, job classification and compensation plans, the Town Meeting Members have accepted all articles recommend- ed by the Personnel Board in 1962 and 1963.

The Board has set up working relationships with various de- partments and department heads, requesting reports required on attendance, sick leave, personal history and fringe benefits. We can boast of almost 100% cooperation from the various depart- ments and a good word can be said for the newly appointed Clerk of the Personnel Board who weekly keeps all records up-to-date.

The Board sought and received information from comparable cities and towns on wages, hours, fringe benefits and working con- ditions during the year. The Board also received information from State and Federal agencies on cost of living increases, wage settlements in private industries and local government. As a result of all the information compiled from various sources, the Board will make its recommendations to the Annual Town Meet- ing relating to wage schedules and working hours.

The Board held regular meetings on the third Thursday of each month, and conducted special meetings at other times at the request of town employees and departments who could not con- veniently attend the regular scheduled meetings, on such matters as job classification, job descriptions, working hours, sick leave, and wage rates.

The Board wishes to thank those citizens who verbally or wrote expressing their approval, and to all who cooperated with us during the past year.

Respectfully submitted,

RANDOLPH PERSONNEL BOARD

HYMAN FINN, Chairman MARJORIE CONLEY, Secretary GERALD FAHERTY

ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL REPORT

REPORT OF THE BOARD OF REGISTRARS

The Board of Registrars submits its annual report for the year 1963. During the past year 300 new voters were registered, the total number of registered voters now being 9757, which in- cludes the following:

Precinct # 1 2206

Precinct # 2 2610

Precinct # 3 2440

Precinct # 4 2501

The Registrars have street listed 12,885 people and have on file, cards with names, addresses and occupations of the same. Alphabetical list of these people are also on file. Persons listed books were also printed with this information. Also listed were 1 755 dogs, these being turned over to the dog officer.

Since the last street listing, the Town has many new streets with 158 single new homes added, 37 duplex dwellings, Reed Street apartments with 88 units completed, and Christopher Park with 60 units completed for 1963.

The street listing which has been done in the past by the three Registrars, will be changed as of 1964, and the system recon- structed because of the tremendous increase of population over the past few years. It is no longer possible for three people to street list and complete it, within a reasonable length of time.

Respectfully submitted,

ETHEL McDONALD, Chairman ELIZABETH CUNNINGHAM KATHERINE M. SMITH
