SPECIAL MEETING
January 24, 1927
Pursuant to a Warrant issued by the Selectmen, the inhabi- tants of the Town of Medfield, duly warned and notified in the manner prescribed by law, met at the Town Hall in said Medfield on the twenty-fourth day of January, 1927, at 7.30 p. m., and the following action was taken on the articles con- tained in the Warrant:
Article 1. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate the sum of $3,307.31 to pay the Town's proportion of a new Cement Bridge over Charles River, including the change of grade on Forest Street, Millis, and Orchard Street, Medfield, or do or act anything relating thereto.
Voted, that the sum of $3,307.31 be raised and appropriated, $2,000.00 to be taken from the free cash in the treasury, and the balance, $1,307.31 be taken from this year's tax levy.
Article 2. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate the sum of $22,000.00, in addition to the amounts previously appropriated at the Town Meeting held June 14, 1926, for the purpose of constructing a school building for all grades, or do or act anything thereto.
Voted, that votes to appropriate money be taken by ballot.
Under Article 2. Upon the motion to appropriate an addi- tional sum of $22,000.00, 130 voted in the affirmative and 142 in the negative.
Article 3. To see if the Town will raise and appropriate any additional sum of money to be added to the amounts previously appropriated at the Town Meeting held June 14, 1926, for the purpose of constructing a school building for all grades, or do or act anything relating thereto.
Upon the motion to appropriate an additional sum of $16,- 000.00 113 voted in the affirmative and 138 in the negative.
Article 4. To see if the Town will amend the votes passed at the Town Meeting held June 14, 1926, by striking out the

words "All Grades" and inserting the words "Grammar School" in place thereof, or insert the words "High School" in place thereof.
Voted, that the vote taken under Article 1, of the meeting of June 14, 1926, be amended by striking out the words "All Grades" and inserting in place thereof the words "High" or "Grammar School."
Upon the motion that the vote taken under Article 4, of the meeting of June 14, 1926, be amended by striking out the "$100,000.00," and inserting in place thereof "$80,000.00," and by striking out the "$90,000.00," and inserting in place thereof "$70,000.00," 124 voted in the affirmative and 88 in the negative.
Article 5. To see if the Town will rescind the whole or a part of the action taken relative to a new school house at the meeting held June 14, 1926.
Voted, that the article be dismissed.
Article 6. To see if the Town, having failed to make pro- visions for an additional school building under the previous articles, will now do or act anything relating thereto.
Voted, that the "Building Committee" be restricted to the expenditure of the sum of $80,000.00 (Unanimous).
Voted, that the building be a High School.
Voted. that the meeting be dissolved.

SPECIAL MEETING
March 3, 1927
Pursuant to a Warrant issued by the Selectmen, the inhabi- tants of the Town of Medfield, duly warned and notified in the manner prescribed by law, met at the Town Hall in said Medfield on the third day of March, 1927, at 7.30 p. m. and the following action was taken on the article contained in the Warrant:
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to rescind all action it has taken relating to a new School House, at Special Town Meetings held June 14, 1926 and January 24, 1927, being Articles 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Special Town Meeting held June 14, 1926, and Articles 4 and 6 of the Special Town Meeting held January 24, 1927.
Voted, that the article be dismissed, 253 voting in the affirma- tive and 144 in the negative.
Voted, that the meeting be dissolved.

ANNUAL MEETING
March 7, 1927
Pursuant to a Warrant issued by the Selectmen, the inhabi- tants of the Town of Medfield, duly warned and notified in the manner prescribed by law, met at the Town Hall on the seventh day of March, 1927, at six o'clock in the forenoon; and the following action was taken upon the several articles in the Warrant :--
Article 1. To choose all Town Officers required to be elected annually by ballot; to wit:
One Moderator, One Town Clerk, One Treasurer, One Collector of Taxes, Three Constables, One Tree Warden, One Assessor, all for one year; One Selectman, One Assessor, One School Committee, Two Trustees of Public Library, One Member of Board of Health, One Cemetery Commissioner, One Member of Water and Sewerage Board, all for three years; One Member of Planning Board for five years.
The polls to be opened at 6.15 a. m. and may close at 2 p. m.
The ballot box was examined and found in good working order and at close of voting agreed with the check lists in the number of ballots cast.
The following named persons appointed by the Selectmen and sworn by the Town Clerk were assigned to duty as follows: Charles L. Bullard and Alida S. Pear to distribute ballots; Richard E. Conrick and Mary A. Weiker to check at ballot box; Albert L. Clark, Alex. Allan, Marian J. Peirce, Helen F. Skinner, Alex. A. MacLean, Arthur W. Hobbs, Michael J. English, George L. Bent, Tellers; Constable Lawrence M. Dewar in charge of ballot box.
Cards of Instruction and Specimen Ballots were posted as required by law. The polls were opened at six fifteen o'clock in the morning and closed at two o'clock in the afternoon.

Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to grant and ap- propriate the sum of $3,150.00 to scarify and tarvia South Street from High Street to the residence of Benjamin Kimball, or do or act anything relating thereto.

Article 21. To see if the Town will grant and appropriate the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for the purpose of repainting the street signs in anticipation of village delivery of mail, or do or act anything relating thereto; said sum to be expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen. Article 22. To see if the Town will accept as a perpetual trust the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) presented by Mary Antonette Barney, the interest thereof, or so much as may be necessary, to be used for the care and maintenance of the Thomas F. Barney lot in Vine Lake Cemetery, allowing balance if any to accumulate in the bank for future use on said lot.

Article 23. To see if the Town will grant and appropriate, in addition to the unexpended balance, two thousand two hundred thirty-four dollars and eighty-eight cents ($2,234.88) from the Adams Street sewer, the sum of three thousand one hundred thirty-four dollars and eighty-eight cents 3,134.88 , in order to complete the 345 feet of sewer in Adams Street, in connection with 991 feet of sewer in Dale Street, from the new school location to the present trunk line going to the sewer beds, the Dale Street portion being laid deep enough to serve quite a large area to the north and east whenever needed, or do or act anything relating thereto.

Article 24. To see if the Town will grant and appropriate the sum of forty-four hundred dollars ($4,400.00) in order to lay 975 feet of 10-inch cast iron pipe in North Street, from

Green and Cottage Streets to Dale Street, where it would connect with the present 4-inch cast iron line, or do or act anything relating thereto.

Article 25. To see if the Town will finance the foregoing Water Department Article by three notes, and authorize the Treasurer, with approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money for said purpose, and issue three notes of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) each therefor, the first of said notes being payable in 1928, the second in 1929, and the third in 1930; the balance of fourteen hundred dollars ($1,400.00) to be paid out of the current taxes of the present year, or do or act anything relating thereto.
Voted, that the article be dismissed.
Article 26. To see if the Town will grant and appropriate a sum not exceeding six hundred dollars ($600.00) in order that the Water and Sewerage Board may be in a position to sink or drive a few wells in the vicinity of our springs, in case the State Board of Health should approve, from a sanitary point of view, of our trying for a larger source of supply, at or near our present location, or do or act anything relating thereto.

Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to accept the Act of 1923, Chapter 391, providing that the water rates and charges not paid within sixty days after the due date shall be a lien upon real estate, in the manner provided for in said Act, or do or act anything relating thereto.

Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to accept Janes Avenue as a Town way.

Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to grant and appro- priate the sum of $1,992.00 to pay land damage on East Main Street, the Town to be reimbursed by the County to the amount of $820.00, or do or act anything relating thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to grant and appro- priate the sum of $850.00 for extending the present six-inch cast iron pipe in Spring Street, four hundred feet, in order to provide for four (4) new services, for which applications are on file, or do or act anything relating thereto. (Petition of Water Commissioners.)

Voted, that the sum of $850.00 be granted and appropriated to extend the water pipe in Spring Street.
Article 11. To see if the Town will accept the following named sums of money as perpetual trust funds for the care of lots in Vine Lake Cemetery, the interest thereof, or as much as may be necessary, to be used for said care:
Sprague Lot, presented by Joseph M. Lamb $100.00 Amos W. Shumway Lot $150.00
Voted, to accept in usual form.
Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to grant and appro- priate the sum of $2,000.00 for rebuilding High Street near the Walpole town line, the Town to be reimbursed one-half by the State, and one-quarter by the County.
