COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
NORFOLK, SS.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Medfield, in said County, greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth you are directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield, qualified to vote in town affairs, to meet at the Town Hall, in said Medfield on Monday the 12th day of February A.D. 1951 at 7:30 P.M. then and there to act on the following articles:
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a Town Way a private road known as Bella Avenue connecting Green and North Streets as laid out by the Selectmen as shown on the plan and layout on file' in the Town Clerk's office; authorize the Selectmen to acquire by eminent domain or otherwise such rights, titles and easements on such land as is necessary therefor to accomplish said purpose, raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purchase or taking thereof and to provide for the construction and improvement of the same, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to transfer a sum of money from the Road Machinery Fund to the Highway Operating Account to defray the expenses of the operation and maintenance of Highway Machinery.
Article 3. To hear and act on the report of the Tercen- tenary Committee appointed under Article 42 of the Annual Town Meeting of 1949, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting an attested copy thereof, in the usual place for posting warrants in said Medfield, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.

By virtue of this warrant, I have notified and warned the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield qualified to vote in elec- tions to meet at the time and for the purpose named, by posting attested copies of said warrant in not less than five public places in the Town at least seven days before the time of holding the meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING February 12, 1951
Pursuant to the foregoing warrant, the meeting was called to order by the Moderator at 7:30 P.M. and after reading said warrant the following action was taken on the articles therein:
Article 1. Voted to accept as a Town Way the private road formerly known as Bella Avenue but hereafter to be called "Lowell Mason Road" connecting Green and North Streets as laid out by the Selectmen as shown on the plan and layout on file in the Town Clerk's Office; and authorize the Selectmen to acquire by eminent domain or otherwise such rights, titles and easements on such land as is necessary therefor to accomplish said purpose, and to raise and appro- priate the sum of $3,400.00 for the purchase or taking thereof and to provide for the construction and improvement of the same which shall be under the Supervision of the Selectmen.
Article 2. Voted to transfer the sum of $2,800.00 from the Road Machinery Fund to the Highway Operating Account to defray the expenses of the operation and maintenance of Highway Machinery.
Article 3. Voted to accept the report of the Tercentenary Committee appointed at the 1949 Annual Town Meeting and in view of the unsettled war conditions to postpone the cele- bration of the 300th Anniversary of the Town of Medfield to a later date.

Immediately following the Special Town Meeting a Caucus was held to nominate candidates for Town Offices to be voted for at the Annual Town Election on March 5, 1951. Upon the nomination of Ellis N. Allen (the grandson of George L. L. Allen) as Tree Warden, the Town Clerk was instructed to record the unanimous standing appreciation of the Town for faithful, capable and industrious service which Mr. George L. L. Allen has rendered as Tree Warden of the Town of Medfield for the past forty years.

Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1951, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Chapter 44, Section 17, General Laws.
Article 7. To determine in what manner the taxes shall be collected for the ensuing year; also determine what per- centage shall be allowed the Collector for the ensuing year.
Article 8. To see if the Town will authorize the Collector to use all means in the collection of taxes as the Treasurer might if elected to that office.
Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to appoint one of its members as Clerk of the High- way Department, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 10. To see what compensation the Town will allow the Clerk of the Highway Department for the ensuing year.
Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the improvement of Chapter 90 Roads, said money to be used in conjunction with any money allotted by the State or County or both for this purpose, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to transfer a sum of money from the Road Machinery Fund to the Highway Operating Account to defray the expenses of the operation and maintenance of Highway Machinery.
Article 13. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to appoint an inspector of wires under Chapter 529 of the Acts of 1949 and raise and appropriate a sum of money to carry out the provisions of this act.
Article 14. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $4,000.00 for the construction of a section of High Street providing the State will contribute $8,000.00 and the County will contribute $4,000.00 or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 15. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money to reconstruct the sidewalk on the west side of Pleasant Street from Main Street a distance of approximately 625 feet.
Article 16. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to reconstruct the sidewalk around Sauer's Block for a distance of approximately 190 feet.

Article 17. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to reconstruct the sidewalk on the north side of West Main Street from the N.Y., N.H. & H. RR. Co. right of way to a point approximately 365 feet westerly.
Article 18. To see what compensation the Town will allow the members of the Fire Department for the ensuing year.
Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of making certain repairs to the Town Offices, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

Article 31. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from the Treasury to the Library Department the sum of $218.35, the same being the amount of fines collected by the Library during the year 1950, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 32. To see if the Town will vote to transfer the sum of $541.89 the 1950 Dog Tax return to the Library.
Article 33. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for Adult Evening Practical Arts courses, or act in any manner relating thereto.
Article 34. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money for Vocational tuition and transportation.
Article 35. To see if the Town will vote to transfer money of George-Barden Fund for Evening Practical Arts Account, or act in any manner relating thereto.
Article 36. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate a sum of money to purchase a hot water heater for the High School.
Article 37. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for retirement under the pro- vision of Chapter 708 of the Acts of 1941 for teachers entering military service.
Article 38. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money under the provision of Chapter 658 pertaining to physical education.
Article 39. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the systematic collection and removal of garbage, or do or act anything in relation thereto. (Board of Health)

Article 49. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,572.60 for the Norfolk County Re- tirement System as provided for in Section 22, 7c, Chapter 32, of the General Laws.
