Article 60. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Building By-Law voted at the Special Town Meeting of July 11, 1951, by adding to Section 3. Article 13, subsection "a" which reads as follows:

ANNUAL TOWN MEETING FOR THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS
March 2, 1953
Pursuant to the foregoing warrant the meeting was open- ed at 6:00 A.M. by the Town Clerk and after reading the war- rant the polls were declared open. Previously the ballot box had been checked and found in good working order, instruc- tions to voters posted and specimen ballots displayed at the entrance and within the hall. The following persons were sworn in and assigned to their duties as follows: Mary Mair Etienne and Alice Ripley distributing ballots, Margaret Kennedy, Hele ?! Mckeown, Susan Kennedy, William Owens, Helen Kennedy, Beatrice Bangs, John Sullivan and Eileen McCarthy as tellers, Frank Kennedy and Aurora Flaherty checking at the ballot box and Nicholas Gugliotta in charge of the ballot box.
The polls were declared closed at 2:00 P.M. and at this time it was moved and seconded to hold the Annual Town Meeting for the Transaction of Business at the High School Auditorium on Monday, March 9, 1953. The ballots were counted in open meeting and after the totals were tabulated the results were announced as follows:

Article 6. Voted unanimously to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1953, and to issue a note or notes there- for, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in ac- cordance with Chapter 44, Section 17, General Laws,

Article 7. Voted that the taxes shall be paid in two equal installments, July 1, 1953 and October 1, 1953, and the Collector shall receive 1% of the 1953 taxes.
Article 8. Voted to authorize the Collector to use all means in the collection of taxes as the Treasurer might if elected to that office.
Article 9. Voted to authorize the Selectmen to appoint one of its members as Clerk of the Highway Department.
Article 10. Voted that the Clerk of the Highway Depart- ment shall receive $25.00 per week.
Article 11. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,000.00 for the improvement of Chapter 90 Roads, providing the State or County, or both allot like amounts for said purpose.
Article 12. Voted to transfer the sum of $630.00 from the Road Machinery Fund to the Highway Operating Account to defray the expenses of the operation and maintenance of High- way Machinery.
Article 13. Voted that this article be dismissed, wherein a sum of money for the construction of a section of High Street was asked.
Article 14. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $850.00 for the reconstruction of the sidewalk on the north side of West Main Street from the N.Y.N.H & H. RR. Co. right of way to a point approximately 365 feet westerly.
Article 15 Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $600.00 for the reconstruction of the sidewalk on the north side of Oak Street between Pleasant Street and South Street.
Article 16. Voted to transfer the sum of $6.000.00 from available funds in the Treasury for the purpose of repairing the exterior walls of the Town House.
Article 17. Voted to instruct the Selectmen to petition the Boston Edison Company to install one (1) electric light on the corner of North Street and Janes Avenue, said cost of instal- lation to be taken from the appropriation for street lighting under Article 4.
Article 18. Voted that this article be dismissed, wherein a sum of money was asked for repairs to the Town Offices.
Article 19. Voted to accept by deed gratuitously a cer- tain right of way or easement for the drainage of surface water on Oak and Park Streets from the successors in title of Dudley J. Goring, former Trustee of "Conemara Realty Trust of Medfield, Mass."
Article 20. Voted to transfer the sum of $500.00 from avail- able funds in the Treasury for Vocational Tuition and Trans- portation.

Article 28. Voted to authorize the Water and Sewerage Board to appoint one of its members as Water Superintendent.
Article 29. Voted that the sum of $1.75 per hour shall be paid the Water Superintendent.
Article 30. Voted to transfer from available funds in the Treasury the sum of $1,500.00 to be used for a survey of addi- tional sources of water supply under the supervision of the Water and Sewerage Board and two outside members to be appointed by the Moderator.
Article 31. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,300.00 to be used ******* for the construction of a new tennis court on the School Property located on the southerly side of Dale Street and North Street.
Article 32. Voted to allow the members of the Fire De- partment the sum of $32.75 per year and $2.00 per hour while working at fires.
Article 33. Voted to transfer from available funds the sum of $1,750.00 for the purchase of 1,000 feet of hose for the Fire Department.

Article 34. Voted that a committee consisting of the Chiefs of the Fire Department, Police Department, Chairman of the Park and Planning Board, Finance Committee and Frank Haley, Clerk of the Highway Department, shall look into the advisability of purchasing a piece of land for a Fire Station.
Article 35. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $4,200.00 and to transfer the sum of $320.00 from the Sale of Cemetery Lots Fund for the maintenance of Vine Lake Cemetery.
Article 36. Voted to transfer the sum of $468.00 from available funds in the Treasury for the purchase of a Dever Model No. 24R Lawn Mower for the Cemetery Department.
Article 37. Voted to dismiss this article wherein the pur- chase of a new Police Car was asked.
Article 38. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of $500.00 for the hire of an ambulance for Town Use.
Article 39. Voted to transfer the sum of $2,350.00 from available funds in the Treasury for the purchase of a mist- blower chemical tree sprayer for the use of the Tree Depart- ment.
