Article 6. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1954, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in ac- cordance with Chapter 44, Section 17, General Laws.
Article 7. To determine in what manner the taxes shall be collected for the ensuing year; also to determine what per- centage shall be allowed the Collector for the ensuing year.
Article 8. To see if the Town will authorize the Collector to use all means in the collection of taxes as the Treasurer might if elected to that office.
Article 9. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Select- men to appoint one of its members as Clerk of the Highway Department, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 10. To see what compensation the Town will allow the Clerk of the Highway Department, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 11. To see if the Town will vote to transfer a sum of money from the Road Machinery Fund to the High- way Operating Account to defray the expense of the opera- tion and maintenance of Highway Machinery.
Article 12. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the improvement of Chapter 90 Roads, said money to be used in conjunction with any money allotted by the State or County or both for this pur- pose, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen in behalf of the Town of Medfield to enter into an agreement with the Commissioner of Mental Health of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for the purpose of having the Fire Alarm System and Civil Defense System installed at and sounded from the Medfield State Hospital.
Article 26. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the purpose of installing the Fire Alarm System and the Civil Defense System at the Med- field State Hospital, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money for the purpose of reconstructing the sidewalk and resetting the curbing where necessary from in front of 489 Main Street and running easterly for approxi- mately 117 feet to North Street and thence turning and run- ning northerly for approximately 152 feet along North Street on the westerly side, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 28. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money to reconstruct the sidewalk on the southerly side of Main Street in front of St. Edward's Church and Rectory for a distance of approximately 95 feet, or do or act anything in relation thereto. .
Article 29. To see if the Town will vote to reconstruct the sidewalk along the northerly side of Dale Street in front of the schools for an approximate distance of 450 feet, or do or act anything in relation thereto. .

To see if the Town will vote to hold fitting dedicatory services on the World War II Honor Roll and the Memorial School on Memorial Day, 1954, and to appoint a committee to act in conjunction with the Memorial Day Com- mittee for the purpose of making arrangements for said services, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 54. To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- propriate a sum of money to provide suitable quarters for the Beckwith Post No. 110, American Legion, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 40, Section 9, General Laws (Ter. Ed.) and amendments thereto.
Article 55. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money for the original placing and replacing markers in Vine Lake Cemetery on the graves of veterans of the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I and World War II, or do or act anything in relation thereto.
Article 56. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money for the hire of an ambulance for Town Use, or do or act anything in relation thereto.

Pursuant to the foregoing warrant the meeting was opened at 6:00 A.M. by the Town Clerk and after reading the warrant the polls were declared open. Previously the ballot box had been checked and found in good working order, instructions to voters posted and specimen ballots displayed at the entrance and with- in the hall. The following persons were sworn in and assigned

to their duties: Mary Mair Etienne and John Guiney distribut. ing ballots, Margaret Kennedy, Barbara Lovely, Aurora Flaherty, Helen Kennedy, Joseph Mair, Mildred Lombard, Susan Kennedy and Alice Ripley as tellers, Alice Ripley and John Sullivan checking at the ballot box and Coleman J.
