Article 56. Voted unanimously: on motion duly made and seconded, that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $2, 000. 00 for the GASOLINE FUND.
Article 57. Voted unanimously: on motion duly made and seconded, that the Town accept the provisions of Chapter 820, Acts of 1950, providing for an increase in the annual amounts of certain pensions, retirement allowances, annuities, and other benefits payable by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and its political subdivisions to certain former employees and persons claiming them.
Article 58. Voted unanimously: on motion duly made and seconded, that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $6, 000. 00 to be used as the RESERVE FUND.
Article 59. A motion was made by Mr. Cox, duly seconded, that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $31, 023. 00 for the general expense of the HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT allo- cated as follows:
Highway Commissioner's Salary $4160. 00
Employees Salaries 14118. 00
Overtime 1500.00

An amendment was made by Mr. Ferren that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $25, 612. 00 for the general expenses of the HIGH-WAY DEPARTMENT for 1952, to be allocated as follows:

Overtime Wages for Snow & Ice Removal 1500.00

The amendment was seconded, voted on and carried after which the original motion, as amended was voted on and car- ried unanimously.
Article 60. Voted unanimously: on motion duly made and seconded, that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $581.00 for the construction of SURFACE DRAINAGE ON CARTER ROAD.
Article 61. Voted unanimously: on motion duly made and seconded, that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $4, 800. 00 for the construction of SURFACE DRAINAGE ON CHESTNUT STREET.
Article 62. Voted unanimously: on motion duly made and seconded, that the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $400. 00 for engineering services on the SYLVAN CIRCLE DRAINAGE PROJECT.
