THE TOWN OF LYNNFIELD HONORS


Mrs. Bernice A. Munroe, First Grade teach - er at the South School, for 30 years of de- voted and inspiring service to the children of our community. Mrs. Munroe taught the First Grade throughout her career, except when she first taught in Vermont in a one- room country schoolhouse, Grades 1-8.


Josiah Poeton, who joined the Volunteer Fire Department in 1908. He was appoint- ed a regular member for 10 years. He was Deputy Chief for 3 years and was appoint- ed Chief in 1948, retiring in January 1955, but continued to serve until April 15, 1955.


Miss Elizabeth W. Green, our Center Li - brarian, for 63 years of outstanding service to both adults and children of our com- munity. She started at the age of 18; and now, at 81, she is actively serving 700 library patrons.
