The Moderator appointed for the South Ward, Edward B. Haskins, Chairman, Charles A. Harris, Henry J. Tolman. East Ward, Henry R. Sewall, Chairman, Irving R. Henderson, Alan C. Virtue. West Ward, Arthur L. Merritt, Chairman, William O. Prouty, Arthur E. Appleford. He also appointed Henry R. "Section one hundred and three A of chapter fifty-four of the General Laws, inserted therein by section one of chapter three hundred and thirteen of the acts of nineteen hundred and thirty-three, and as most recently amended by section one of chapter seventy-seven of the acts of nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, is hereby further amended by adding, after the word 'charter', in the sixth line, the words :- at a meeting held not less than ninety days before the regular city election,-so that the first paragraph will read as follows :- Sections eighty six to one hundred and three, inclusive, of this chapter and sections twenty-seven and thirty-four of chapter fifty-six shall, so far as applicable, apply to regular city elections in any city which accepts this section by vote of its city council, subject to the provisions of its charter, at a meeting held not less than ninety days before the regular city election, and to regular town elections in any town which accepts this section at any annual meeting or any special town meeting held not less than ninety days before an annual meeting. All the rights, powers, duties and obligations conferred and imposed upon the state secretary by said sections shall, with respect to said city and town elections, be exer- cised and performed by the clerk of such city or town, and, in construing said sections for the purposes of this section, any reference to state elections shall be considered as referring to said city or town elections in such city or town."

Pursuant to a warrant duly executed and return thereof made by John T. Osborn, a constable of Norwell, the qualified voters net in the Cushing Memorial Town Hall Tuesday, November 5, at 6 A. M. and took the following action. Ralph H. Coleman, Senior member of Board of Selectmen, acted as Presiding Election Officer; the other officers on duty were, A. Lester Scott, James A. Liddell, Mary DeMarchi, Arline Smith, Carlton O. Litchfield, Esther Whiting, Helen C. McLeod, Margaret Crowell, Ethel C. Turner. Harry G. Pinson of the Board of Registrars was in charge of the ballot box. 1044 names were checked as voting and 1044 ballots cast. The ballot box register agreed.
