Att the above meeting the Committee who were Chosen to provide Stuff or materials for Building A Steeple to the meeting House in Wenham Verbally Reported that they have Provided a Sufficiency of Stuff for Sd building. Whereupon the Town Agreeable to the above mentioned warrant voted yt the Report of Sd Committee be accepted Likewise voted to go on with Sd building the Ensuing Summer According to their former vote in December Last.


Lastly voted that the Same Committee are appointed to build the above Sd Steeple According to the Plan which they have Drafted (Viz) Twelve feet Square, and of Pro- portionable Height to Sd meeting House: And that the Said Committee be impowered and directed To take Ef- fectual Care that the Business of Said building is begun Carried on, and Perfected in the most Consistent man- ner with the Benefit of the Town.

August 5th the Town being Regularly assembled upon adjournment Mr moderator declared it to be his pleasure to Adjourn Said meeting from the meeting house to the House of D' Tyler Porter and that Said meeting is ad- journ'd to Said Porters there to be instanly Held. The Town being immediately assembled at Sª Porters upon the above sd adjournment. The above mentioned Com- mittee verbally Reported as followeth (viz) that they find the Lands mentioned in yee warrent for Calling their meeting, and also in Sundry Other places, land Proper to be Sold; for the Town's use, According as mentioned in Said warrent

1t Voted that the Varbal Report of the Selectmen with Regard to the inexpediency of Repairing the House where Patrick Burn lately Lived be accepted, and that Said house, and land belonging thereto be Sold, by Said Selectmen as Soon as Conveniantly it may be done and the money Apropriated to the Towns use.


2ly voted to Raise One hundred and twenty pounds to be immediately assessed on the inhabitants of Said Town, for Defraying the Charge of Building the Steeple to our meetinghouse.


Then M' Moderator Declared Said meeting to be de- solved, and desolved it was accordingly

Mr Benjamin Kimball being chosen Moderator Ordered Mr Swains Proposals to be red in Open Meeting, Which being done, a vote Pass'd, that the Gentle" Himself be desired to Appear in Person at this meeting.


Then the Revd M' Joseph Swain Came and Remonstrated his Pressing Difficuities, Which the Insufficiency of Sal- ary had involved him in; The Town After hearing yee Same with Calmness, and Tenderness becoming their Re- lation Voted that the Sum of Thirty pounds be given to the Revd M' Joseph Swain for his Relief under his aforesª Difficulties: - And that the Selectmen be di- rected to Take Effectual Care that the Sd Sum be Paid as Soon as Conveniently it may be done. - and then Mr moderator Declared the Sd meeting to be Dissolved, and it was Dissolved accordingly.
