Standing near ye Northerly End of Wen- ham Casaway thence to a heap of stones at the Southerly End of the Casaway a Reputed bound of porters farm. Thence Southwesterly to the walnut stump at the head of Leachs meadow where these walls meet being the Re- puted corner of Bounds Andrews farm. from thence Southeasterly to a white oak marked S. W. in the wall formerly Joseph now Benja Herricks thence S Easterly to a heap of stones in John Herricks orchard about seven foot Esterly from the fifth aple-tree in the second row from the southern wall of the ould orchard - or orchard next the house marked. Proposalls by Jonathan Porter for Settlement of bounds between the Town Claim and him on the Meeting-hous Land is as followeth. that is to say. that a Line shall be drawn from the North East End of the Stable next Eben- ezer Batchellers yard Strerght to the Corner post of his garden on the other side of his land before his Dore and that the two Stables Standing there shall be removed and turned faceing of the meeting house and shall have so- much land westward of that line as that length and breadth will take and to be removed one pole from sd batchellers fence and this do be a finall Settlement of bounds with the Town voted a confirmation provided he will make a settlement with the Selectmen. the above is truly Entered as delivered to me to Enter by the modera- tor at our Town meeting in Wenham May ye 10th 1736 - Attest Nathaniel Brown Town Clerk

said porters offer for an accomondation of the differance between the Town and him and the Towns vote and order to us at their meeting the tenth Corrant we have on the Day of the Date hereof actually fixed and settled the bounds according to the proposals then made and voted as on Record - to wit we sett a stone at the East End of the Stables near Ebenezer Batchellers gate which stands five poles wanting two feet Distance from the North west Corner of the Meetinghouse and from thence on a straight line to a stone we sett att the Corner poste of his garden Southward of his yard as it now stands and the two stables now standing westward of that line to be turned facing to the Meetinghouse and to stand westward of the line between the two above mensioned Stones which land sett of to the town by this Setlement Did Doth & forever shall belong to the Town for an aconodation to the meet- inghouse and all fenceing and improvements be regulated accordingly. as Witness our hands the Day and year above mensoned -

At a meeting of the Selectmen . June 14th 1736. then agreed with mr Daniel Dodge to keep a School in our Town to learn youth to read and wright and for the sum- mer season to teach to read by three women in those sev- eral parts of the Town and for the winter season to re- main and keep a wrighting school as well as a reading in the severall parts of the Town four months beginning the first of November untill the first of March and the price agreed on is four pounds by the month for the said term

Desember 20th 1736 At a Town meeting of the freehold- ers and other inhabitants of Wenham qualified to vote. Duly warned and conveaned to choose an agent to defend the Towns cause in an action whereby they are summoned to answer To Thomas Kimbal of Ipswich at Salem Court next left William Dodge Chosen moderator for the meet- ing - Mr: Samuel Gott Chosen an agent for to defend the Towns cause at Salem Court against Thomas Kimball of Ipswich wherein he hath commenced an action against the Town by sommoning left. We whoso are appointed by our respective Townes in Ipswich and Wenham have met on said Day and have renewed the bounds between our said Towns and marked said bounds begining at a maple by the Springs and so to a greate White oak marked upon the Edge of wigwom Island and then to a beach marked and so to a black-birch

At a meeting of the Selectmen of Wenham October the 23 = 1738 Then agreed that the persons who have enter- tained others Town Inhabitants in our town at their houses and have not attended the Law in that Case made and provided to give the Selectmen Notis thereof within twenty days their Names should be entered in our Town book of Record to save the Town from Damage by such entertainment of others town Inhabitants Richard Dodge hath taken in won Thomas Colwell wifie and three Chil- dren we are informed they came from New Hamsheare and are Reserved in his house that he bought of John Dodge.
