A postoffice and railway station on the Kalamazoo division of the L. S. & M. S. Ry., about midway between Constantine and Three Rivers, and 8 miles southwest of Centreville, the county seat. A postoffice and village in Clay Banks township, Oceana county, 6 miles west of Greenwood station, on the C. & M. L. S. R. R., the nearest railroad point, 22 southwest

FLOWERFIELD.
Lies on the Kalamazoo division of the L. S. & M. S. Ry., in Flowerfield township, near the northern line of St. Joseph county. It is a village of 225 inhabitants, settled in 182S. The north branch of Rock river a tributary of the St. Joseph, furnishes fair water power. The surrounding country consists of prairie and timber land, grain and fruit being the chief agricultural pro- ducts. Flour, grain, apples, cider, vinegar, grain cradles and live stock are shipped. A village of about 1,000 inhabitants in Flushing township, in the northwestern part of Genesee county. The Flint river flows through the village and furnishes excellent water power. A place of 100 inhabitants, on the shore of lake Huron, in Forester township, Sanilac county. It is 17 miles north of Lexington, the county seat, and too from Detroit. Port Huron, 40 miles distant, is its nearest rail- road point. Forester has I grist mill, I lum- ber mill, a Methodist church and a district school. A village and station on the F. & P. M. Ry., in the townships of Pleasant Plains and Yates, Lake county. It is 3 miles east of Baldwin City, the county seat, 33 east of Ludington, and 196 froni Detroit. The middle branch of Pere Marquette river fur- nishes water power at Forman's Mills, 2 miles south of the village, where are located 2 saw mills and a shingle factory. FORT GRATIOT.
A village of 900 inhabitants, at the foot of lake Huron, one mile above Port Huron. It is in Fort Gratiot township, St. Clair county, 63 miles northeast of Detroit. It takes its name from a military post formerly existing here, and derives its importance from being the point at which the traffic of the Grand Trunk railway crosses the St. Clair river. village was incorporated in 1871, at which time it contained 363 inhabitants; it now has about 1200, and is the center of a flour- ishing trade. Its industries are a flouring mill, two planing mills and a stave and heading mill. There are two handsome churches, Baptist and Methodist, a good Union school building, a fine new hotel, the Corbett House, built by Mr. O. H. Corbett, a new brick block erected at a cost of $12.000, by Mr. George W. Palinerton. A creditable weekly newspaper, the Review, is published. FRANKENLUST.
A village of Soo inhabitants, in Kochville township, Saginaw county. It is 10 miles north of Saginaw City and 5 miles west of Wenona, on the Saginaw division of the M. C. R. R., via which place goods for Frank- enlust should be shipped. It has a Lutheran church, flouring mill, saw mill, i graded and 2 private schools. FRANKENMUTH.
A German settlement of about 250 souls, in the township of the same name in the eastern part of Saginaw county. It is on Cass river, 15 miles southeast of Saginaw City, 9S from Detroit and 8 east of Bridge- port station, on the F. & P. M. Ry, its near. est railroad point. The place has 2 grist mills, a saw mill, a shingle mill, a tannery, a brewery, an old Lutheran church and excel- lent school facilities. It is in a good farni- ing country and ships flour, lumber and shingles .. It has a stage to Tuscola and .Bridgeport tri-weekly and a tri-weekly mail. F. W. Koch, postmaster.

FRANKFORT.
A flourishing village of 1200 inhabitants. in Crystal Lake township, Benzie county, of which it the seat of justice. It is on the shore of lake Michigan at the mouth of the Aux Bec Scies river, 35 miles southwest of Traverse City the nearest railroad point, 100. miles by water above Chicago and about the same distance by land from Detroit. It is in a rolling, hard wood timber country, wheat, oats and corn being successfully grown. The manufacturing interests are a blast furnace, 2 .saw mills, a shingle mill, a grist mill and some others. The churches are 2, Congre- gational and Methodist. Lumber, iron. shingles, wood and some produce are shipped. Settled, IS54. Stage to Traverse City and Manistee tri-weekly. Telegraph, Western Union. Mail, daily. John B. Cullins, post- master.
