Special Town Meeting held Saturday March 25th 1916.
The waters of Brimfield assembled at the Town Hall on Saturday, March 25th 916 in response to the foregoing warrant. The meeting was called to order by the town clerk who read the warrant calling the meeting, at 1,15 o clock the meeting was opened and Stanley Parker and Clarence King were appointed tellers and sworn . A ballot was then taken for moderator , with the following result, whole number of ballots cast cast twenty nine (29) of which Robert Streeter received eighteen (18) and was declared elected and sworn.
article 2nd was taken up. and Mrs Waldron moved that the matter of the School Houses go over to the next annual meeting and that the Selectmen seek legal advice in regard to it. the mation was. put to vati and the motion was not carried.

article 2nd was taken up, and the report of the Committee elected to investigate the contract between the town and the Trustees of the Hitchcock Free academy was called for. mr. R. W. Waldron Chairman of the Committee made some opening statements and Leon S. Oliver read a type written copy of the report.
Orus E. Parker one of the trustees of the academy took exceptions to some of the statements in the report and made extended rem- marks in regard them, giving a clear concise and accurate statement in regard to the workings. and present status both interlectura- Ily and financially in regard to the contract.
R.V. Jawin made remarks for the School Committe and that they were legally and clearly within their rights in discussing the funds for the maintenance of the various schools Mer, Coolbroth read some comments commendatory inregard to the work. of the contract.
(L. F. Pierce. Attorney who wrote the contract was present and was asked to make some remarks, and briefly stated that he drew up the contract. that the heirs of Mr. Hitchcock were favorable to the contract, and the attorney General to whom it was submitted for approval. considered it very favorable to the town. after remarks were made by a few a there a motion was made that the report of the committee the laid upon the table, and the motion was so voted. article 3ª was taken up. Vatid That article 3ª he passed over without action. Amotion was made that this committee be discharged. but was ruled as not in order. Presidential and Manual State Election held Tuesday November seventh 1916.
The voters of Brimfield assembled at the Town Hall Tuesday November 7th 1916 in response to the foregoing warrant. The meeting was called to order and opened by Orin Nicks the Presiding officer at ten o'clock a. M. who read the warrant calling the meeting. The town Clerk them delivered to the presiding freer the specimen ballats and cards of instructions, and the packages of ballots said to contain 200. ballots and took his recept for them. The cards of instructions and specimen ballots were then posted as required by Law. Samuel H. Adams, Clarence B. Brown, Charles H. Files and Monroe G. Tarbell, having been previously appointed by the Selectmen as ballet clerks and tellers were severally sworn by the townclerk. The seals of the packages of ballots were broken open by the presiding officer and the ballots delivered to the ballot clerks & tellers. The ballot box was then opened for inspection and declared to be empty it was then locked and the key delivered to the Police officer Patrick Mc. Intyre the ballat box register standing at 000. at ten o'clock and 30 minutes a. M. the polls were decla- -red open for the reception of hallats by the presiding officer. Vated On mation of S. H. adams the time for closing the polls. be extended until 3 o'clock P.M.
at 3. 0 clock the presiding officer declared the polls closed for voting and the ballat clerks proceeded to count the ballots delivered to vaters aschecked was one hundred and fifty four. (154) the presiding officer this opened the ballot box and counted the ballats cast one by one in open meeting which was 154. and corrisponded with the checkers count. the register on the ballat box did not work right and registered two hundred and one
