At a Leagal meeting of the Propriators of the Township Called No 1 Laying on the East Side of Saco River belonging to the Narraganset Grantees held the 24th Day of may Ano 1736 M' Jonathan Fellows was Chosen moderator for that meeting


At the above Said meeting voated that no wood or timber Shall be Cut or Carreyed of or from any of the undevided Land belonging to Said Township under the penallty of the Law in Such Case maid and provided where persons Cut or Carrey of that have no right


then by a voate the propriators Adjourned Said meeting to munday the thirty first Day of this Instant may at twelve of the Clock


At a Leagal meeting Held the 31st of may anno 1736 by Adjornment and at Said meeting voated that there be Twen- ty pounds in bills of Publick credet paid to Each propriator to the No of ten who shall now apear to buld a House of the Contents of Eighteen feet Square and Seven feet Stud on his Lot in Sd Township and finish the Same So as to make the Same Tennantable at or before two years be Ended next aftor the Date hereof & Clere four acres of Land fit for mowing within the Said two years and when it apears that the Said ten or any one of them have bult his house then he or they that have bult Shall Receive ten pound and the other ten pounds as Soon as it Doth appear that they or any one of

At the above Sd meeting it was voated that Each propria- tor Shall Pay the Sum of Fourty Shillings to the propriators Colectors at or before Six months be Ended next aftor the Date of this meeting for the payment of the ten propriators that have apeared to Settle in Sd Township


At a Leagal meeting of the Propriators of the Township Called No 1 Laying on the Fast Side of Saco River Granted to the Narraganset Soldiers held the fourth Day of April Ano 1737 Joseph Gerish Esqr was Chosen moderator


At a Leagal meeting of the Propriators of the Township Granted to the Narraganset Soldiers Laying on the East Side of Saco River held the 17th Day of may Ano 1737 mr Jona- than Fellows was Chosen moderator


Voted that the Sd meeting be adjourned to the 30th Day of this Instant may to be held at Capt Hales Inholder in New- bury falls at twelve of ye Clock on Sd Day


The Propriators of Sd Township beeing met on the 30th Day of may according to the afore Said Adjournment from the 17th Day of may 1737 made Choyee of mr Aron Potter Clerk for this meeting

Voted that if any Persons to the No of thirty of Said Pro- priators will apear to give Eighty Pound bond Each to Cap! William Elsley Treasurer for Said Propriators or his Suckses- sor in that office that they will Settle their Lots in Said Town- ship agreeable to the Conditions of the Grant made by the Great & General Court at or before Tow years be Ended next aftor the Date hereof: and when Each Settler hath bult his house & Cleared his Land according to Said grant and when Sd House is bult & finished fit to Dwell in then Such Settler Shall be Intitled to Receive Twenty Pounds out of Said Pro- priators money to be paid by Said propriators Treasurer & Twenty pounds more when they have Cleared Said Lands : & when Said House or Houses Shall be bult and Said Land fenced & Clered then the Said Settlers are to Settle a fameley in Each House who are to Continue there for & During the Space of Seven years next aftor the bulding Said House : and Each of Said Settlers that have more then one right in Said Township to bare an Equal proportion in paying part of Said forty pounds for Each Right they have in Said Township one- ly that Right they Settled on to be Excepted from Such Pay- ment Such Settlement to be made within Two years from the first of Sepember next aftor the Date of this meeting


Voted for the Incouragement of Settling the Narraganet Township No one the Sum of forty pounds in bills of Publick Crelet to Each person to Carrey on & perform the Condition of the Propriators vote at this meeting which No agreed to : to Settle is to be thirty & when they have performed there du- ty agreed to then they are Intitled to Draw the money agreed on by Sd Propriators

Voted that there be a Committee Chosen in the thirty Set- tlers to Releve any Person of the thirty that hapen to have Lots not Conveniant to buld on that they are to Lay him or them out another as the Committee may think Conneniant in the undevided Land they Relinquishing their first Draft

Voted that Inasmuch as that the Said Propriators at their meeting may the 30th 1787 gave Liberty to any person or per- sons of the thirty Settlers to build a mill i Said Township but gave no direction on what Stream Said mill Should be bult therefore it was vote;l & declared that if any person or persons Shall bull a mill on any of the undevided land in Said Township they Shall not buld on any other Stream then on Saco River untill the further order of Said Propriators

Voted that Said assessment be made as Soon as may be & Said money to be gathered by the Colectors whose names are as foloweth Voted that Edmund Greenleaf Jun" of the Town of Newbury be & is hereby Impowared to gather the money due from all the Propriators of or belonging to the Town of Newbury & all others on the northerly Side of merimeck River & Stephen Mighill to gather all the money of the propriators who are Inhabitants of the Town of Rowley & mr John Brown of Ipswich to gather all the money due from any of the Inhabitants of the Town of Ipswich with others agreeable to the List Comitted to Each Colector to gather and to pay in and accompt with the propriators Treasurer for all the money they Shall Receive as Colectors & make up his accompt of Such Colector with Sd Treasurer on or before the fifteenth day of December Next after the date hereof


Voted that Mr Daniel Hale Mr Jonathan Fellows & John Hobson be assessor to Levey the Tax or Asessment maid & granted to be Laid on each Propriator at the above Sd meeting
