A PETITION of Samuel Robinson in behalf of the Propric- tors of Narraganset Township Number four, lying at a Place called Quabin, & part west of Hatfield & adjoining to it, PRAYING that a Plat of Three Thousand five hundred Acres of Land, herewith exhibited, (laid out by Nathaniel Kellog & Chainmen on Oath ) may be confirmed to the Proprietors of said Township, to fulfill a Grant of 3500 Acres of Land made to them by this Court,
In the House of Representatives ; Read and ORDERED that the Prayer of the Pet" be granted, and the Lands dlineated in the Plan herewith exhibited, are confirmed to the Proprie- tors above mentioned their Heirs & assigns, PROVIDED the Plan does not interfere with any former Grant, or does not exceed the Quantity mentioned.

of the Proprietors of Narraganset Township Number seven, SHEWING that by Reason of some Obscurity and uncertainty in the former Plan of the said Township, they have taken a more accurate one by a sworn Surveyor and Chainmen on Oath, herewith exhibited, PRAYING that it may be accepted and confirmed by this Court, as the Plan of said Township Nº 7. or Gorham Town as it is usually called.

Committee appointed by the General Court to Consider the Petition of the Proprietors of Narraganset Town- ship Number Two .- [ Sce, "WW," "XX," "YY," "III," "LLL."]

A COMMITTEE of both Houses was appointed to consider the Pet" of Joseph Lynes and others Proprietors of the Township called Narraganset Numbr Two; which was ac- cepted by the Council, but by the House refer'd over to the next Court.
[Capt. Woodman, whose Muster-rolls are here printed, was in Narragan- set Number One as early as May, 1742. When war was declared between France and England, in 1744, he with the other settlers left the Township. He removed to Biddeford and became part owner in a saw-mill and eleven acres of land adjacent, now within the city of Biddeford. In 1750, he returned to Narraganset Number One and settled on " Pleasant Point," and become a very prominent man in the Township. In 1793. he removed to Hollis, Maire, where he died in 1796. He was buried on " Pleasant Point," and his grave has been justly and carefully protected by his Great- grand-son, Cyrus Woodman, Esq., of Cambridge, Massachusetts. ]

Narragansett No 1., Pearson Town, New Marblehead, New Boston, and new Gloucester, with the Lines and Boundaries of the Same, and of the Towns of Biddeford, Scarborough and Falmouth as run and fixed by a Committee of this Court appointed in February last, and de- scribed in the Plans aforesaid ; having also perused the peti- tion of the Proprietors of the Town of Scarborough and other papers committed to us, and heard and considered what the parties concerned thought fit to offer either in opposition to, or Support of the Proceedings of the Said Committee touching the premises are, upon the whole, of OPINION that the herein before written Report of the said Committee, Signed Richard Cutt be accepted, and that the Plans of the Several Town- ships above mentioned therewith exhibited, and the Several Lines and Boundaries therein described, be ratified and con- firmed accordingly. PROVIDED that the description of the Boundaries of the Townships aforementioned in the Plans aforesaid be not underStood or construed to affect or alter the Side line which divides the Town of Scarborough from that of Falmouth ; but the same Shall remain as formerly stated, which is HUMBLY submitted pr Order, SAMT DANFORTH.
In Council, Read and accepted, and ORDERED That the Lines and Boundaries of the Several Townships of Biddeford, Scarborough and Falmouth, and of narragansett- No 7, Nar- raganset No. 1, Pearson Town, New Marblehead, New Bos- ton and new Gloucester as laid down in the Places exhibited by the Committee for running the Lines of the said Town- ships be and hereby are determined to be the Lines and Bour .- daries of the Said Townships respectively ; and the said Plans are hereby ratifyed and confirmed, PROVIDED, That the de- scription of the Boundaries of the Townships aforementioned in the Plans aforesaid be not understood or construed to affect or alter the side line which divides the Town of Scarborough

A PETITION of Joseph Woodman and others, Inhabitants of Narraganset No one in the County of York-SETTING FORTH, That being a Frontier Settlement, they were obliged till the Reduction of Quebeck in 1759 to keep Watch and Ward ; THAT having since had two years of great drought and scarcity, they were almost reduced to Famine thereby ; in ad- dition to which in the year 1762, a desolating Fire ravaged their Improvements, and burnt several of their Dwellings ; in which year a Tax of £44-7-6 was laid on them, which they are unable to pay, as many of the Inhabitants were reduced to Penury and obliged to remove elsewhere, and PRAYING that the said Tax may be remitted.
In the House of Representatives ; Read and RESOLVED That the Prayer of this Petition be granted by remitting the Tax of Forty four pounds, seven shillings and sixpence laid on Narraganset Township Number one in the year 1762, and that the Treasure be directed to stay the Execution gone forth against them therefor.

In the House of Representatives-WHEREAS there was a Plan taken of several Townships by John Brown Esq" Sur- veyor by order of a Committee of this Court in 1763 vizt of Narraganset Nº 1-Pearsontown Nº 7 with the Lines of Biddeford, Scarborough and Falmouth as run by said Com- mittee, which Plan is mislaid or lost.
RESOLVED That the Secretary be directed to write to the sd John Brown Esq" to take an exact Plan of said Town- ships and running said Lines of said Biddeford, Scarborough and Falmouth from his Field Book or Journal, and make Oath to the same that it is a true Plan, and return said Plan into the Secretary's office as soon as may be.
