him to buld a Sawmill in Said Township at a plase Called Gaines is Brook upon Condition that he buld a Good Saw mill and finish the Same Ready to Saw timber for Said Pro- priators by the first Day of march Next 'and to have a Con- veniant Plase for a mill yard of about two acres for the use of Said Propriators of Said Township to Lay their Logs and hall of there timber & Liberty for Said Chase to buld a House and barn for his use on Sd Two acres and to make a Dam for Said mill on both Sids of Said Brook and to have Said mill and Stream to him and his heirs and asigns forever upon the Condition hereaftor in these-Presents mentioned viz that Said Chase is to have Liberty to flow the meadows above Said mill with one Dam at all times forever hereaftor and to Saw timber for any of Said Propriators to the halves at all times forever hereaftor from the Last Day of October to the fifteenth Day of aprill yearly and No longer and Said meadows niver to be flowed before Sd first of October nor Kept flowed Lon- ger then Said 15th of aprill and if Sd Chase or his heirs or assigns Shall or do fail of Keeping a good Sawmill fit for Sawing and help to tend her in the Season of Sawing and do not Saw for Said Propriators according to the trew Intent and meaning hereof then the Said Land and Stream to revert to S.uid Propriators as if this Vote had niver been and Said money to be paid within one month aftor Said mill and Dam Shall be finished.

Voted that there should be Eighteen Hundread Pounds, in bills of Credit of the old tenour, Raised on ye Proprietors of Said Township to Defrey the Charges in bringing forward Said Township (more Especially to encourage thirty men of Said Proprietors to Settle on Said Township according to y true meaning of ye Great & Generall Courts act in that Case made & Provided as by Charter may appear-the aforesd Eighteen hundred Pounds, in bills of credit, Shall be assessed Collected & Paid in to whom it Shall be ordered within the Space of Six months next after ye date hereof & the Per- son or Persons To whom said money Shall be paid, Shall give Sufficient Bond to pay out ye Same according to ye Proprie- tors order -

Whereas there hath been & is Raised Eighteen hundred Pounds of ye old tenour to be paid to thirty of ye Proprie- tors of Said Township that Shall appear & give Bonds to full- fill ye Courts order on thirty Proprietors Shares in Said Township within ye space of Six months time next Ensuing ye Date hereof ye Payments to be as followeth (viz) one third part at their begining to Settle & one third part more when they have half done their Settlement and there other third part when they have truly fullfilled ye Great and General Courts order to all Intents and Purposes It is to be understood that when ye aforesd thirty have built their houses and Cleared and manured their Land according to ye Courts order then they Shall be Entitled to their Last payment upon their giving Bonds, to keep a family in Each house untill the Township be made a Town & invested with Town Priviledges or when and So Soon as they them or Either of them have done and finished their Settlement he & they Shall have his money as aforesd they Each of them keeping a family in Each of their houses untill Said Township be made a town and invested with Town Privilege as aforesd-
it was voted Stephen myghill & other in Company Shall build a Saw mill att Said Township as Soon as Shall be agreed on by ye Said undertakers & a Comtt Chosen for that Servise & are to have two hundred Pounds in bills of credit (old tenour ) for there So doing m' Sam" moody Leut Nath" Dumer & Leiut Joseph Coffin are Chosen a Com" to agree with Stephen myghill & others about Said Saw mill both on ye terms of building & Sawing & when to Resign Said mill up to ye Proprietors again -
