SHEBOYGAN. This progressive in- corporated city is advantageously located at the mouth of the Sheboygan river, on the shore of Lake Michigan, and on the M., L. S. & W. and C. & N. W. Rys, in Sheboygan county, of which it is the judi- cial seat, 52 miles north of Milwaukee and 23 south of Manitowoc. It was incorpo- rated as a city in 1853, and has had a sub- stantial, and for the last ten years a continuous growth. Its manufacturing industries are varied and extensive, of these the manufacture of chairs is the principal industry, 5 chair factories being engaged in the business and having an output of over 4,000 finished chairs daily. The leather and furniture in- dustries are next in importance, there being 3 large tanneries, and a furni- ture factory, using 40,000 feet of lumber daily. There are also toy and express wagon factories, a steam roller flour mill, a land plaster mill, a stoneware factory, a boot and shoe factory, 2 wooden- ware factories, 2 breweries, 3 planing mills,
