Situated on the creek of the same name. Is about 73 miles from Lawrenceville the county seat, and nearest railroad station, and 35 miles from Atlanta its nearest banking town. A telegraph station will soon be established at Lawrenceville. Su- wanee 17 miles distant, is the nearest express office. Population about fifty. The creek has good shoals and furnishes abundant water power, operating a flouring mill, saw mill and gin. Mount Gilead Academy is one mile from the village, There is a Baptist church. Is a place of about 60 inhabitants, con- taining a steam grist mill and cotton gin ; also two grist mills and cotton gin run by wa er power.
