Lolated 12 miles northwest of La- Fayette, the county seat, and S from Rising Fawn, its nearest railroad sta- tion. Has Methodist and Missionary Baptist churches, common schools, and several water-power grist mills.

Located on Two Run Creek, 7 miles from Cartersville -- W. & A. R. R .- the county seat, and its telegraph office and banking town, 2 from Cass Sta- tion, the nearest shipping and express office, via which it is 55 from Atlanta, and 89 from Chattanooga. Is a place of about 225 inhabitants, containing Baptist and Methodist churches, one academy, and a steam saw and grist mill. Ship vio Cass Station. There are two large academies or institutes, one un- der control of the Baptist denomina., tion, and the other the Methodist. The State Asylum for the deaf and dumb is also located here. Is a place of about 100 inhabitants, 10 miles from Reidsville the county seat, and 40 from No. 3, C. R. R., the nearest railroad and express sta- tion. Cedar Creek from which the town derives its name furnishes water power to operate a saw mill, rice and corn mill. It has also steam -aw mills . and gins.
