Voted, that the sum of $1,500 be raised and appropriated as a contribution toward the erection of a soldiers' monument in this town, the site therefor to be on the green in front of Stetson Hall, and that the said sum be set apart by the Treasurer of the town and not paid over or drawn upon until the Treasurer and Selectmen are reasonably assured that the contributions from other sources for said erection amount to the sum of $2,700, and that a committee consisting of three citizens not members of Post 110, G. A. R., be ap- pointed by the Moderator at this meeting to act jointly with a committee of three to be appointed by and from the mem- bers of said Post, which joint committee shall have full

charge over the architectural design of said monument, and full power and authority to enter into contract for the erection thereof. But under no condition or circumstances shall said committee involve the town to a greater liability than $1,500 without a vote of the town at a meeting called for that pur- pose.


The Moderator appointed as such committee James Fardy, Edwin M. Mann, Herbert F. French.


Article 31. On petition of Thomas B. Jones and others, to see if the town will vote to instruct the Water Commis- sioners to extend the water main on High Street in a northerly direction two hundred rods from its present terminus on High Street, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Voted, that during the current year it is not expedient to further extend the water main on High Street, as petitioned for under this Article.


Article 32. To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to sign and deliver a proper deed of the Inhabitants of the Town of Randolph, conveying lands described in a deed from Hiram C. Alden, Treasurer of the Town of Randolph, to Gideon Howard, Jr., dated April 3d, 1865, and recorded with Norfolk Deeds, Book 331, page 51.


Voted, that the town authorize and instruct the Selectmen to sign, seal, execute and deliver such a deed as will perfect the conveyance intended to be made of the Ludden Farm

(so called), now situated on South Street, in Holbrook, Mass., under its vote at a meeting held April 29, 1839, in so far as the town has power so to act.


Article 33. To hear and act on the report of any com- mittee, and choose any committee the town may think proper.


It was voted that a Committee of Five be appointed by the Moderator to investigate and recommend as to the advisability of disposing of any portion of the land recently purchased for a high school site. Said committee to serve without pay and to report at the next annual meeting or at a special meeting to be called for the purpose.


The Moderator appointed as such committee Timothy Lyons, Henry A. Belcher, Edward Long, William J. Good, Frank D. McCarty.


Voted, that it is the sense of this meeting that the Com- mittee on Appropriations appointed at the annual town meeting be instructed to report at least three days before the adjourned annual town meeting.


Voted, that it is the sense of this meeting that the assessors be instructed to revalue the town and publish a list of the property owners, with the amount of each person's tax, in the annual Town Report.


Voted, that the citizens here assembled by a rising vote express their appreciation for the loyal and faithful services

To see if the town will accept as a town way the street as laid out by the Selectmen, to be known as Park Street, running easterly from North Main Street, near West Street turnout, which laying out, with boundaries and measurements of the way, is on file in the office of the Town Clerk, and raise and appropriate money for the construction of said street.


Article 3. To see if the town will vote to instruct the Water Commissioners to extend the water main from its present terminus on Pond Street to North Main Street, as peti- tioned for by Edward F. King and others, and raise and appropriate money therefor.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING


RANDOLPH, May 22, 1911.


Pursuant to the preceding warrant the voters of Randolph assembled in Stetson Hall this evening at seven thirty o'clock.


The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Fred M. French, and the warrant and return was read by the Town Clerk.


Article 1. Voted to indefinitely postpone.


Article 2. Voted to indefinitely postpone.


Article 3. Motion that the Water Commissioners be and they hereby are authorized and directed to extend the water main from its present terminus on Pond Street to North Main Street, and that the expense thereof be defrayed from the proceeds of the sale of a note as authorized by special acts of the Legislature, said note not to exceed twelve hun- dred dollars, and to be payable within five years from the date of issue.


Motion defeated, 22 in the affirmative, 13 in the nega- tive, not a two-thirds vote.


Voted to dissolve.

RANDOLPH, September 25, 1911.


Pursuant to the foregoing Warrant the voters of Randolph assembled in Stetson Hall at 7.30 o'clock in the evening.


The meeting was called to order by the moderator Fred M. French and the Warrant and return read by the Town Clerk.


Article 1. Voted that the town hereby accepts as a town way the street as laid out by the Selectmen running easterly from North Main Street near the residence of A. Lizzie Mann in accordance with a plan now on file in the office of the Town Clerk, that the Selectmen be and they are hereby authorized and directed to build said street, that the sum of $300 be paid for building said street and that it be paid from the Highway appropriation of the present year.


Article 2. Voted by a two-thirds vote that the Water Commissioners be and they hereby are authorized and in- structed to extend the water main from its present terminus on Pond Street to Main Street and to defray the expense thereof. The Town Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to borrow money and to issue a note of the town with the approval of the Water Commissioners. Said note not to exceed ($2,500) twenty-five hundred dollars, and to be payable five years from the date of issue.
