Also, that the interest on the taxes and deposits during the year 1907 be appropriated towards the payment of interest on the town debt. Also that the overlay tax of the current year be appropriated towards meeting any abatement of taxes which may be allowed.
Article II. To raise money for the repair of highways and determine the manner of expending the same.
Voted, that the sum of $3,500.00 be raised and appropri- ated for the repairs of highways, including paving and side- walks, and in addition thereto, the street railway tax and ex- cise tax for the current year, the same to be expended under the direction of the Selectmen.
Article 12. To see what sum of money the town will raise and appropriate for lighting the streets by electricity.
Voted, that the sum of $3,300 be raised and appropriated for said purpose, exclusive of the amount which may be raised under Articles 30 and 33. And that the Selectmen be in- structed to make a reduction from this sum for all lights out of repair which are not burning, such reduction to be in pro- portion to the cost of the light.
Article 13. To see if the town will vote to pay the insur- ance on the Town Treasurer's bond for the year 1907-1908, and raise and appropriate money therefor.
Voted, that the town pay for the expense of insurance on the Town Treasurer's bond for the year 1907-1908, and that the sum of $120 be raised and appropriated therefor.
Article 15. To see what compensation the town will allow for the collection of taxes.

Article 16. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to medical attendance on the poor, and raise and appro· priate money therefor.
Voted, that the sum of $350 be raised and appropriated for said purpose, said sum to be apportioned equally among the several physicians, and to be in full for attendance upon all persons under the care of the Overseers of the Poor, whose settlement and residence is in the town of Randolph, for one year from January 1, 1907. That is to say, each physician resident in the town on the first of March, 1907, shall receive the sum of $50 for his services provided he makes 34 visits during the year ; after that he shall receive no compensation for his services, but shall attend such of this town's poor within its limits as may call upon him for his services; those physicians who make less than 34 visits shall receive pay at the rate of one dollar and fifty cents for each of said visits.
Article 17. To see if the town will instruct the Selectmen to appoint special officers to enforce the laws, and raise and appropriate money for the payment of such offcers.
Voted, that the town instruct the Selectmen to appoint special officers, or direct officers elected by the town, to en- force all the laws of the Commonwealth, and that the sum of $1,200 be raised and appropriated for said purpose, and that the Selectmen be instructed to use all the power the law gives them to suppress the illegal sale of intoxicating liquors.
Article 18. To see what sum of money the town will raise and contribute to the Sinking Fund, as required by law, to meet the payments of the Randolph Water Loan.

Article 28. To see if the town will vote to make repairs on the Almshouse and raise and appropriate money for the same.
Voted, that the sum of $600 be raised and appropriated for said purpose.
Article 29. To see what sum of money the town will raise and appropriate for the sprinkling of streets.
Voted, that the sum of $500 be raised and appropriated for watering streets.
Article 30. To see if the town will vote to place two elec- tric lights on Depot street, as petitioned for by William R. Mullen and others, and raise and appropriate money for the same.
Voted, that the town pay the expense of two incandescent lights on Depot street, exclusive of any cost of equipment and that the sum of $27 be raised and appropriated therefor.
Article 31. To see if the town will vote to place a fire alarm box on West street at the corner of Silver street, and raise and appropriate money for the same.
Voted, that the subject matter of this article be committed to the Board of Engineers of the Fire Departmnt, and that a fire alarm box be placed at or near the corner of West and

Article 32. To see what action the town will take in rela- tion to the gift to the town of the "Great Pasture Lot," so called, by the late E. Fanny Belcher.
Voted, that the town gratefully accept the devise of the ' Great Pasture Lot," (so called,) from the donor, the late E. Fanny Belcher, in accordance with the terms of her will, and that the Town Clerk be directed to notify the executrix of said will of this acceptance and the vote thereon.
Article 33. To see if the town will vote to place electric lights on Chestnut street as petitioned for by Albert D. Swan and others and raise and appropriate money for the same.
Voted, that the town pay the expense of eight incandescent lights on Chestnut street, exclusive of any cost of equipment, and that the sun of $108 be raised and appropriated therefor.

Article I. To see if the town will vote to accept the pro- visions of Chapter 360 of the Acts of 1907, entitled "An act to authorize the town of Randolph to incur indebtedness for the purpose of renewing certain notes."
Article 2. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen to issue notes of the town to replace, renew, or refund four demand notes now outstand- ing, mentioned in Chapter 360 of the Acts of 1907, amounting in the aggregate to the sum of thirty-five thousand dollars ; to provide for the payment of the same in accordance with the terms of said act, and to take any other action necessary to comply with the conditions thereof.

The meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Fred M. French, and the warrant and return was read. A full ex- planation of the causes leading up to the necessity of Chapter 360, Acts of 1907, was given by the Treasurer, after which the following action was taken:
Article I. Voted, unanimously, that the town accept Chap- ter 360, of the Acts of the Legislature in the year 1907, en- titled "An act to authorize the Town of Randolph to incur indebtedness for the purpose of renewing certain notes."

Article 2. Voted, unanimously, that in compliance with the provisions of Chapter 360, of the Acts of 1907, and for the purpose specified therein, the Town Treasurer be and he here- by is authorized and directed, with the approval of a majority of the Selectmen, to issue thirty notes of the town, in the aggregate amounting to thirty-five thousand dollars, all bear- ing the same date of issue and bearing interest at a rate not exceeding four and one-half per cent. per annum, payable semi-annually ; that said notes shall be numbered serially from I to 30, inclusive; that each of the notes numbered I to 10, inclusive, shall be of the denomination of $1.500 each, and each of the notes numbered II to 30, inclusive, shall be of the de- nomination of 1,000; that the notes shall be paid in the order of their respective serial numbers, so that the first note of the series shall become due and payable in one year from the date of issue, and one of the remaining notes in its consecutive order shall become due and payable in each successive year thereafter until the entire issue of thirty notes shall have be- come due and paid.

Randolph, July 15, 1907.
Pursuant to the preceding warrant the voters of Randolph assembled in Stetson Hall, July 15, 1907.
In the absence of the Moderator, owing to illness, the Town Clerk called the meeting to order, and the warrant and return was read.
Daniel J. Brennan was elected Moderator pro tem.
Article I. Voted, unanimously, that the town amplify and amend its vote passed March 18, 1907, under Article 7 of the warrant so as to read as follows : ,
Voted, that a sum not exceeding $30,000 be raised and ap- propriated for the building of a high school house and the purchase of land and equipment therefor, and that the Town Treasurer be and he hereby is authorized and directed to bor- row the money necessary therefor at a rate not exceeding five per cent. per annum, and that the town treasury notes ap- proved by a majority of the Selectmen be issued therefor in such a manner that $1,500 of the amount so borrowed shall become due and payable in one year from the date of borrow- ing, and $1,500 each year thereafter until the entire amount of $30,000 shall have become due and paid, it being the intention of this vote to ratify and confirm the vote passed March 18, 1907, under Article 7 of the warrant in all respects not incon- sistent herewith.
