The Annual Town Meeting adjourned from March 19, 1923 to this date assembled in Stetson Hall this March 26, Meeting called to order at 7.30 o'clock P. M. by the Moderator Mr. James E. Foley, and action taken as follows.

were accepted by the meeting and declared to be the duly elected finance Committee for the ensueing year, Mr. Patrick J. Hart, Mr. Herman W. Richter, Mr. Arthur W. Hodges, Mr. Edward J. Morgan, Mr. Domi- nick J. Hand, Mr. John B. Brennan, Mr. Thomas A. Fardy.
Voter: That a Committee of five be appointed to investigate the possibilities of securing the locating of Manufacturing plants within the town particularly along the lines of the N. Y. N. H. & H. R. R. where Spur track facilities would be available, and to consult with such Manufacturing concerns as seems interest- ed and report progress thereon from time to time through the press or at Town Meetings, and that Messrs. Herman W. French, Frank W. Hayden, Eu- gene L. McAuliffe, James H Hurley, and John R. Lud- dington, be invited to serve on said Committee.
Voted: That a Committee of five citizens who travel to Boston daily or weekly by train shall be ap- pointed to confer with the N. Y. N. H. & H. R. R. offi- cials and with the department of Public Utilities and to use any other lawful means to obtain better train service, on either division of the New Haven Railroad for the Town of Randolph and also endeavor to se- cure a reduction of carfares, Committee appointed Messrs James F. Kennedy, D. J. Hand, Isaac R. Mann, W. B. Atherton, Henry V. Morgan.
Article 10. To see if the Town will vote to pay the insurance on the Town Treasurer's Bond for the year 1923-1924 and raise and appropriate Money therefor :

Article 14. To see what action the Town will take relative to extending the water main Northerly 800 ft. on High Street, and to raise and appropriate money for the same.

Article 17. To see if the Town will Vote to pur- chase a Lungmotor and raise and appropriate money therefor.

Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to accept Section 73 of Chapter 41 of the General Laws which provides that the Selectmen shall constitute a board of Survey.
Voted : That all action under this article be in- definitely postponed.
Article 24. To see of the Town will Vote to make appropriation for the decoration of Soldiers' Graves under the direction of Captain Horace Niles, Post 110, G. A. R.
Voted : That the sum of $200.00 be raised and appropriated for the decoration of Soldiers' Graves under the direction of Capt. Horace Niles Post 110 G. A. R.
Article 26. To see what action the Town will take relative to Medical attendance on the Poor and raise. and appropriate money for the same.
Voted : That the sum of $300.00 be raised and appropriated, said sum to be apportioned to the sev- eral physicians of the Town, and to be in full for the attendance of all persons under the care of the Select- men and Overseers of the Poor, whose settlement and residence is in the Town of Randolph for one year, from January 1923, that is to say that each physician in the Town from the first of January 1923, shall receive $75. 00 for his services, provided that he makes 38 visits throughout the year, after that he shall receive no compensation for his services but shall attend such of the Towns poor as shall call upon him for his services,

those physicians who make less than 38 visits shall re- ceive pay at the rate of $2.00 for each of said Visits.
Article 28. To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to appoint a Special Police officer or officers to enforse the laws and raise and appropriate money for the same.
Voted: That the Selectmen be instructed to ap- point a permanent Police officer to enforce the laws of the Commonwealth and that the sum of $1,500. be rais- ed and appropriated for that purpose, also that the sum of $500. be raised and appropriated for Special Police.
Article 29. To see what action the Town will take relative to the pay of Town Laborers.
Voted : That each person employed by the Town shall receive fifty cents an hour for his labor, and that the pay for the use of horses employed by the Town shall be forty cents an hour, except when used on snow plow or road scraper work, then the pay shall be fifty cents an hour, all men and horses employed on snow plow work prior to eight o'clock, A. M. shall be paid at the rate of seventy five cents an hour.
Article 30. To see of the Town will vote to Elect a Town Forest Committee to investigate the feasibility of establishing a Town Forest for this Town as request- ed by Governor Channing H. Cox.
Voted : That the Committee composed of Adrian Iorio, Carl B. Merrill, Charles D. Hill, Edward T. Hand, Frank W. Belcher serve as a Town Forest Committee.
Article 31. To see if the Town will authorize the

Tax Collector to use the same means which a Town Treasurer may use when acting as Town Collector.
Voted : That the Tax Collector be authorized to use the same means which a Town Treasurer may use when acting as a Tax Collector, and that all taxes re- maining unpaid January 1st 1924 be put in due course of law for collection and that a copy of this vote be printed upon all tax bills.
Article32. To see of the Town will Vote to raise and appropriate money for the care of the clock in the spire of the First Congregational Church.
Voted : That the sum of $20. be raised and appro- priated for the care of the clock in the Spire of the First Congregational Church.
Article 33. To see what action the Town will take relative to abatements of taxes and raise and appro- priate money therefor.
Voted: That the abatements of taxes be taken from the overlay.
Article 34. To see of the Town will raise and ap- propriate money for planting shade trees on the high- ways.

Article 37. To see of the Town will Vote to install electric lights and poles in Stetson Park and raise and appropriate money therefor.

Article 39. To see what action the Town will take relative to a resolution requesting legislation (1) to fix the maximum price at which coal may be sold in any congressional district or part thereof; (2) to provide for prior sales and shipments to consumers and to re- tailers of coal.

Pursuant to a warrant issued by the Selectmen signed June 14, 1923, duly posted by John P. Hanley, Constable, the voters of Randolph assembled at Stetson Hall this 25th day of June, 1923.
Meeting called to order at 8 o'clock P. M., the warrant and return were read by the Moderator, the report of the Committee on Finance and appropriation was read by the Moderator, who explained that there were not a Quorum present, and no money could be appropriated.
Voted that article 8, of the warrant, be now taken up.

The Special Town Meeting adjourned from June 25, 1923 to this date was called to order this Friday, June 29, 1923, at 8 o'clock P. M. by the Moderator, Mr. James E. Foley.

Article 4. To see if the Town will Vote to instruct the Selectmen to sell the Steam Roller and Stone Crush-

er Equipment, or in the event of not selling to remove the Stone Crusher plant to land owned by the Town.
Voted : That the Selectmen be instructed to sell the Steam Roller and Stone Crusher equipment.
Voted : That the Chairman of the Board of Select- men be given the privilege of the floor to explain the agreement made by the Selectmen with the Division of Highways and the Norfolk County Commissioners in regard to rebuilding Warren and West Streets.
The agreement was explained by the Selectmen and a recess of 15 minutes was declared.
After fifteen minutes recess the meeting was call- ed to order, the Voters present were counted under the direction of the Moderator, who declared a Quor- um present and that the meeting would proceed with the articles of the warrant.
Article 1. To see what action the Town will take relative to rebuilding Warren Street from Main Street to the Junction of West Street and West Street from the Junction of Warren Street to the Stoughton Line, under the direction of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works Highway Division, and the Norfolk County Commissioners and raise and appropriate mon- ey therefor.
Voted unanimously : That there be appropriated the sum of Twenty thousand dollars for the purpose of rebuilding Warren Street from Main Street to West Street, and West Street from the Junction of Warren Street to the Stoughton line, with Macadam pavement,

under the direction of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works, Highway Division and the Norfolk County Commissioners, as per agreement made by the Selectmen, and to pay the Towns share of said appro- priation one thousand dollars to be raised this year, and that the Treasurer with the approval of the Select- men be and hereby is authorized to borrow six thou- sand five hundred dollars and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable with the provisions of Section 19 of Chapter 44, General Laws and Ammendments thereto, so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than five years from the date of the issue of the first note or at such earlier time as the Selectmen and the Treasur- er may determine.
Article 2. To see if the Town will Vote to expend the balance of the Welcome Home Fund, remaining in the hands of the Treasurer, for a Memorial Band Stand in Stetson Park, the erection of which shall be in charge of a Committee of Seven appointed by the Mod- erator.
Voted : That the report of the Chairman of the Welcome Home Committee be accepted and that the Committee be discharged, and that the money in the hands of the Treasurer of Said Committee be turned over to a committee of seven to be appointed by the Moderator to erect a permanent Memorial Bandstand in Stetson Park.

appropriate the sum of $2500. for School expenses in- cluding the opening of another room at the Prescott Primary School and the equipping of Stetson High School in order to accommodate the increased enroll- ment.
Voted : That the Sum of $2500. be raised and ap- propriated for school expenses as petitioned for by the School Committee.
Article 5. To see if the Town will Vote to extend the water mains along Main Street from West Corners to Pond Street and raise and appropriate Money there- for.
Voted Unanimously : That the water mains be ex- tended along Main Street from West Corners to Pond Street, under the direction of the Water Commissioners and for said purpose, the sum of seven thousand one hundred dollars be appropriated, that one-thousand dollars be raised this year, an that the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is author- ized to borrow six-thousand one-hundred dollars and to issue a Note or Notes therefor, payalbe with the pro- visions of Section 19 of Chapter 44, General Laws and amendments thereto so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than five years from date of the issue of the first note or at such earlier date as the Selectmen and the Treasurer may determine.
Article 6. To hear and act on the report of the Com- mitee on adequate Fire Protection, appointed at the 1923 Annual Town Meeting, and raise and appropriate money to carry out and recommendation o fsaind Com- mittee.

That there be appropriated the sum of $7500.00 for the purpose of purchasing a Combination Maxim 350 gallon Pump, Chemical Engine and Hose Car and that $1000.00 of said amount be raised this year, and for the purpose of paying the remainder of the ap- propriation, the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to borrow $6, 500.00 and to issue a note or notes therefor payable under the provisions of Section 19, Chapter 44, Gen- eral Laws and amendments thereto so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than five years from the issue of the first note or at such earlier date as the Se- lectmen of the Treasurer may determine.
Article 7. To see what action the Town will take in relation to paying land damages as assessed by the County Comissioners on land on Canton, Old and Chest- nut Street, and appropriate money for the same.
Voted : That the sum of $3789.00 be appropriated to pay land damages in Canton, Chestnut and Old Streets, in anticipation of reimbursement by the Nor- folk County Commissioners.
Article 9. To hear and act on the report of any Committee and choose any Committee the Town may Think proper.
