Children born there, Hiram 1810, Cyrus C. 1814, Lucina 1819, ac- cording to 1865 census of N. Y. Same census shows the famlly in Orleans) Chula Vista, Calif.


Co. in 1827 where daughter Mary M. was born. They moved to Greece, Monroe county before going to Roch- ester where listed in 1843. 1850 cen- sus states Chloe Burrell born in .Vt. and 1865 born in Conn. Wanted par- entage of Chloe Burreil, also date and place of birth; also marriage date and place of Chloe and John F. Bisbee. He in War of 1812 and a pensioner. Locina Bisbee married Chauncey Harris of Greece May 12, 1943; George H. Harris, the archeol- ogist and historian was listed as "nephew" in the household of John Fuller Bisbee in 1865.

.. Amasa and Ammah Andrews, twins, were born in Herkimer Co., latter prisoners and hurried . them N. Y. in 1801. They removed to Oak-


off through the forest ot Canada and land county, Mich. and settled in | how she saw many of the women Commerce township. In 1847 Am- mah Andrews settled in Hudson, Wis. and his brother, Amasa, also, became a settler there in 1858.


Amasa Andrews married (1) in years, was able to travel as fast as

(Was she 'daughter of Samuel or Jobe Fuller, residents 'of Commerce, in 1845?)


As early as 1787 John Andrews, of Conn. settled in Herkimer Co., N. Y. in that section of German Flats which was set off as Litchfield Twp. in 1796. His 'son. Lake Andrews born 1790 was the first white child born in Litchfield Twp. Lake Andrews was named for John


C. Lake of New York City. John Andrews (1-1-1) res- ident of German Flats, 1790 census.


Nehemiah Andrews was a resident of Litchfield Twp. in 1804. He is list- ed as a resident of Litchfield, head of a household, consisting of 4 males, 3 females, 1 voter.


In the same census, the name of Jeremiah Andrews is listed as a res- ident. of Litchfield, head of a house- hold consisting of 5 males, 3 females, 1 subject to military duty and 1 voter.


The name of John Andrews is not included in the census for 1825, and there is no record of an estate for had inquired went with her and in- him in the probate records of Herki- mer county. Estates for Nehemiah and Jeremiah Andrews were not pro- bated in Herkimer county, the ear- first being that of David Andrews, In 1835, in Town of Schuyler.

6. James Palmer, son of Lieut. William. and Judith (Feake) Palmer, was born about 1652 at Newtown, Long Island. He married Sarah Den- ham, said to be the daughter of Thomas Denham, first preacher at Rye, N. Y. Complete data on Sarah Denham and on the Palmer children is wished. Had James and Sarah'a son David Palmer ?

I did not know them 'all but be- sides Henry I knew her youngest sons Conrad and 'Philip and her daughters, the wife of John Gage and a young lady Catherine whose history I have forgotten.


Some of the children remained . in Canada I think and especially . one by the name of Peter must have remained there because I well re- member that she spent an afternoon at our home with my mother and some neighboring women. Just after she had returned from a visit to Canada she said and she spoke rath- er broken English that she had in- quired for her son Peter whom she had not seen since he was & boy and that the gentleman of whom she


troduced her son Peter and that he was a very handsome man and she could not believe he was her son (that to use her own words she esk- ed him if he were truly her son Pet- er and he said yes he was,) that she said. to him, "no it Is not possible

The poor good old lady when I left that country must have been verging close upon 70 but she still kept up the hablt: of frequently walking from the house of her daughter, Mrs. John Gage, to that of her son, Henry, a distance of some four miles. Next north, and on the east side of the road, just south of a little stream, lived at my earliest remem- brance Henry Staley but he soon af- ter removed further south just north of the road leading east from the McDougall school. Some of his child- ren then very young, attended my school.


But the mother of Henry Staley ought to be mentioned. She was an old lady and a widow at my first recollection when I could not. have been over 6 or 7 years of age and I remember before I was 10 years of age, when she was visiting at my father's house, hearing her give the history of her early life. She was of German descent and was born in the Joseph ? Mohawk Valley. She toid how during the early part of the Revolutionary John ? War the Indians came down in the night upon the settlement where she Ransomville, N. Y.

The poor good 'oid lady when I left that country must have been verging close upon 70 but she still kept up the habit of frequently walking from the house of her daughter, Mrs. John , Gage, to that of her son, Henry, a distance of some four miles. She was still living when I left in 1833 and I was in- formed lived some years after. She must have been hear 80 years of age such is the force of constitution pro- duced by a life of continued hard- ships.


The writer of the above, Senador Isaac P. Christiancy was born March 12, 1812, went to Michigan 1833 and became U. S. senator and supreme court judge.
