For the past six years I have been collecting genealogical data concerning the pioneer Failing fam- ily. Thus far I have accumulated re- cords of over 3,000 pre and post Re- volutionary War descendants (all bearing the surname Failing in Its several variations, of spelling.)
There are several gaps in my re- cords concerning alliances with the Timmerman and the Zimmerman families which I believe could be cleared up by those families who have family Bibles or other data in their possession.

. Geroge Henry Carpenter was born April 23, 1820 (or 1825) in Redfield, Oswego county and died Oct. 5, 1868 in town of Schroeppel, Oswego coun- ty. He married at Geddes, N. Y. Oct. 8, 1847 Sarah Jane Lee (of Ithaca, N. Y.) born Feb. 2, 1830, died Jan. 30, 1910. His parents removed from Redfield with their children and went west. This might have been to western N. Y. state or farther west. George stopped off at Geddes and the remainder of the family moved on. I should like to know the iden- tity of parents, thelr ancestry, etc.
