BILLINGTON, HITCHCOCK 1

Data desired of any connection be- tween Billington and Hitchcock fam- ilies. Hitchcoks lived at Pompey, N. Y. in 1802. Think Billingtons lived near there at the same time, possibly at Westmoreland or Verona.

Am looking for a possible mar- riage of a John Billington with a Hitchcok about 1800. This John BIl- lington may have later lived near Rochester, or in Niagara county, N. Y. Later he lived near Columbus, Ohio, then at La Porte, Indiana, where he died in 1857.

Nelson Billington whom I believe to be a son of John, was born in 1804 in New York state somewhere. He named his twin sons Alonzo and Lo- renzo which are . Hitchcock names and not found before that in the Billington famlly except that John Billington of Columbus, Ohio, and La Porte, Ind., named a son Lorenzo who was known to Nelson's children as "Uncle Lorenzo."

This Nelaon Billington appears in the 1840 U. S. Census as head o. a family living in Franklin townsnip, Lenawee county, Mich. The o.ily other members of the family were two women, one old enough to have been his mother, and the other a young woman who could have been either a wife or daughter. His age is given there as younger by three or four years than our family record. He married Julia Whelan in 1943, in- Franklin. She was 20 years younger than he.
