A Bill is granted to Robt Onion to receaue of the Constable 208 for his paymt for the Quarter ending at 24 of June last
Whereas it is intended that the Comon meadowes in this Town shall be forthwith layed out according to the Town order. it is therefore heereby or- dered and declared that no Inhabitant of this or any other Towne shall cutt any grasse in any of them what so euer either by themselues or any thier assignes. except it by further order from the select men in that case, vpon the pennaltie of forfeitur of five shillings. for euery one load so cutt. and ac- cording to that pportion for any Quantitie more or lesse

Nath. Bullard in the behalfe of Edw: Richards and himselfe ppounds that such pt of the grant to Edw Richards as cannot be had in Powisset playne may with his owne may be layed out to them. one the left hand of Naticke path on a playne about a mile or more beyond the Great playne in sattisfaction for thier grants that were taken away by Naticke supplye. and allso what belong to William Bullard. his Father vpon the same accounte
Whereas the Town in the last Generall meeteing comitted John Fairbanks the further care of the Townes supplye (in refference to the report L'. Fisher 8000 Acres granted by the Generall Court in satisfaction & Inº. Fair- for what land was taken away by Naticke) to the Select men banks deputed then to be chosen and that at prsent some report is made to vs. the Selectmen by John Farbanke from the Information of good Prescott of Lancaster. that is pbable such a Tract of Lande. is like to be found at some distance from thence we doe therfore intreat and de- pute Lieft Fisher and John Fayerbanke to repayer to Sudbury and enquire . of Ensi: Noice more fully about the case. and according as they shall see reason then to pceed to Lancaster and to the place and viewe the same by what asistance they may attayne and make report to vs at thier returne, or otherwise to goe no further then Sudbury. as they shall judge most con- ueanient
Vpon the request of John Mackintosh is granted to him and his heyers one smale pcell of shruffey and rockey vpland lyeing vpon the south side of his prsent house Lott and the swampe. betwen the same. and the brooke that runne in the swampe to be layed out by the descretion of Pet: Woodward. and Willm Averey this is granted vpon exchange of so much of the Land. or right he purchased of Robt Fuller. to be layed out in the deuident next meadfield bounds. to be valued by in different men. at the Townes apointmt. the liberty of wattering at a spring within this tract is to be reserved for comon vse for winter season
Vpon the request of Peter Woodward in the behalfe of Ralph Freeman is granted to the said Ralph. and his heyers one smale pcell of vpland lye- ing betwixt the brooke called stoney brooke and another smale brooke next John Euereds house Lott and on the north side of the Carte waye thereby vpon condition that sufficient waye be left to goe to any swampe now in pprietie. and that the said Peter Woodward doe discount so much of his deuident as shall be judged equall sattisfacto to the Towne. this grant is to be layed out to Ralph Freeman by Lieftenant Fisher and William Averey or by thier direction

Lieft Fisher make returne of the case comitted to him and John Far- banke reffering to the 8000 Acres. before mentioned that they are enformed from John Prescott of Lancaster by Jonas Farbanke that the Tract of Land whereof we wer enformed is allready so entered vpon by seuerall Farmes that it is alltogether vncapeable of supply to vs
The Select men in further psueance of this case concerning the 8000 Acres aboue mentioned haueing heard of a considerable Tract of good Land that might be answerable to the Towns expectation. about 12. or 14 miles from Hadley. and not vnderstanding of any other place to be founde worth acceptance. thinke it meet. in the behalfe of the Town to vide that that 8000 Acres may be chosen and layed out to sattisfie that grant ther. wth all conueanient speed. before any other Grantee enter vpon it and pruent vs and to that end doe nominate apoint empower and entrust Lieft Fisher Tymo: Dwight. Ensign Fisher. Edw. Richards. Antho: Fisher Sergt Ellice. Sergt Fuller. & Isaac Bullard or any 4 of them whereof Lieft: Fisher is to be one. to repayer to the place mentioned. and vpon view by the concurrance of the major pt of the 4 that shall attend that seruice to make choice and laye out the Land aboue mentioned according as to thier best discretion shall be best for the Towne and pportionable to the grant of the Court in that case made. and we pmise to each of these 4 men one hundreth Acres of Land in full satisfaction for thier paynes to be indifferently layed out to them out of the grante aforesaid onely to Lieft Fisher for the vse of his Arte we in the behalfe of the Towne pmise such other sattisfaction as shall be judged equall. or in case the Town shall rather chuse to paye all these 4 men in other paymt then in Land. then we engage equall & just satisfaction. ac- cording to the nature & charge of the worke

Who being called together to consider some supplye for the new corn mill Towne by a new mille many complaynts being made by seu- Pond & Morse erall Inhabitants. of much damage by deficient grindeing of thier corne at the prsent mille. And whereas Daniell Ponde .and Ezra Morse. did at this meeteing prsent themselues as willing to vnder- take the erecting of a new mille. and desired of the Select men a grante of Liberty so to doe. there vpon was passed this grante following

Granted to Daniell Ponde and Ezra Morse liberty to build. erect. and finish a newe Corne water mille vpon the same streame vpon which the prsent Corne mille now stand and vpstreame therevpon. being northward from the same. and to that end to fell: take and empue to the vse aforesaide. such Timber. Woode. Stones. Claye earth: and grauell and other materials in the Comon Land of the Towne: as shall be necessary vpon that occasion. And we further Grante to the said Daniell so much Lande vpon the easte side of that streame (vpon the accounte of his Naticke deuident) as shall be ' necessary for the accommodation of the said mille for building and other necessary supplyes. for the ends aboue saide and as that place is capeable to affoarde. this Lande to be layed out by the discretion and apointmt of Lieft Fisher and Peter Woodward Senir
And in consideration whereof. the said Daniell Ponde and Ezra Morse doe each of them joyntly. and seuerally. pmise. engage. couenant. and agree. to and wth the said select men. that they will frame. builde. erect: and finish a good. and sufficient Corne water mille in all respects. and to all intents. ends and purposes. as such a mille ought to be. and that the same shall be fitt to grinde Corne well at or before the 24th of June next. and that they .shall. and will. attend the same or cause it to be attended. and kept to work in due order and manner in all respects. for the supply of the Towne. from
