vpon treatye wth Michall Metcalfe about keepeing the michael metcalf Schoole one yeare more his answer being. that at prsent he keep school was not ripe to giue answer it is therfore agreed that he shall keepe Schoole vntill this daye month according to the last years agreemt. & against that time we shall come to further treatie for further time

(workeing oxen excepted) to goe at home at libertie so as any of the home heards of milch kowes shall be prjudiced by them. or any of them: then euery such Inhab- itant shall paye to the owners of the hearde so prjudiced the sume of five shillings for euery beast so goeing at libertie

Its agreed mutually. that the said Michaell shall attend the School keepeing of the Schoole in our Towne at the schoole house regulations the ensueing yeare. or so long therein as god shall enable him. and teach such male Childeren as shall be sent to him by any Inhabitant to read & write English. pvided that if any Jnhabitant shall take any childe or childeren to that end to send them to schoole it shall be at the libertie of the schoole m' to refuse such except they agree wth him to his sattisfaction. and further its mutually agreed that if the weather be ex- treame & unfitt to traueill then he shall keepe the Schoole at his own house till the season be more tempate
In consideration whereof we the Select men aboue named Michael Metcalf doe agree that he shall receaue Twentie pounds sterling the to keep for £20 one halfe in wheat & the other halfe in [*other Corne] Jndian stg a year half or Rye all being m'chantible. at the end of each halfe yeare wheat and half Tenn pounds that is fiue pounds in wheat & fiue pounds in corn

the consideration of the want of schoole m' being pposed it call to Thos Marret fr to is vpon debateing the case: resolued to giue a calle to Thomas Marret Jun: of Cambridg. to keep the schoole for a keep school quarter of a yeare vpon the alloweance pportionable to the sallary formerly agreed vpon in that case that is 5f, for that quarter & to be pd half in wheat & halfe in other corne.

Whereas the Inhabitants of the Towne in the last generall Natick Indians meeteing declared by voate that the 2000 Acres of Lande land 2000 formerly granted vnto the Natick Indians should be layed acres out: and deputed a Comittee to pforme the same as by that thier voate may more fully apeere. where vpon after som con- sideration by seuerall of the Inhabitants. that the said Indians had not pformed the condicions in that grante exp'ssed the question being put to the Select men what was in this case most expedient and notice being there vpon giuen to the Inhabitants concerned to meet together for the resolution heere of and they being generally assembled after Trayneing. vpon debate of the case the questions & doubts being considered did by thier voate declare that thier former act in this case in the generall Towne meeteing is heereby made voyde: and did forthwith pceed to this voate vnder written:

Whereas the Towne order formerly made concerning fire -. order about fire wood pvide for the prserueing fire woode for such as cutte wood woode and sett it vp this further Order as an addition there vnto for explanation thereof doe declare that if any Inhabi- tant by that order pruelidged to cutt woode shall cutt Coard woode and laye it vp duely Corded no man shall haue libertie to take it but by the consent of him or them that did so cutt it by them selues or thier assignes
Tymo: Dwight & Isaac Bullard doe declare that they being undue cutting woodreeues for this prsent yeare vpon complaynt made to them that seuerall psons of our Towne had cutt firewood contrary to the Towne order in felling such oake trees as are phibet. vpon further enquirey and viewe doe finde that John Mason haue felled 16. such oakes. and John Bacon haue felled 8 such trees and John Aldus 3 oakes. & .
