Complaynt being made that hoope poles for Cowpers vse. are wasted and transported out of Towne for puenting whereof it is ordered and de- clared that no pson what so euer shall exporte any hoope poles. or hoopes wrought. out of our Towne except they be taken of thier own land or consent of the owner except vpon Caske fully finished without licence orderly obteyned from the select men for the time being. vpon penaltie of 58 p. 100. for all hoopes or hoope poles as aboue saide transported contrary to this order. and so according to that pportion for all quantities more or lesse

A letter was this day receaued from m" Thomas Weld of Roxbery in the name of the select men ther. moueing that some men of this Towne might be deputed to meet with som of thier Towne to determine the question dependeing betwixt the two Townes Bounds not agreed vpon betwixt those men of each Towne that were deputed and mett the last Aprill vpon the bounds according to Lawe. which motion was accepted. and to that end were chosen and deputed Lieft. Fisher. if he can be at home and attend it and Ensi: Fisher and Sergt Fuller. and Nath: Coleburn if Lieft Fisher cannot attend it otherwise Nath: Coleburne is discharged and a letter was forthwith drawen to be sent to Roxbery accordingly
A Bill is giuen to Robt Onion to receaue: 4:5 of the Constable out of the next rate or Towne stocke which shall come to his hand. which is for the seruice of the said Robt for the time that end the 1st of January next

The Acts of the Select men for the yeare last past being read.
The first case ppounded respecting the cleereing the question of Title purchased of Sagamore Phillip. and the payemt for the same is left to the care and discretion of the select men this daye to be chosen. to doe therein as they shall ap hend the case may require
The 2 case ppounded respecting the reliefe of the widdow Dunckley and her childeren the Towne comit the care and trust of that whole case to the select men. and the Deacons who haue power to pvide reliefe for them and to dispose of such of those childeren as they shall judge meet. it being ex- pected that the woman should attend the aduice that may be giuen her in this case. by them or the major pt of them. and the Towne be charged no further then is necessary.

The Towne being at prsent enformed that Thomas Walker. last Apprentie to Goodman Gurney of Dorchester. a Tanner haue shewed his willingnes to set vp his Trade in this Towne. the care heereof is left to the select men this daye to be chosen who are empowered to allowe his settlemt in Towne if vpon further information they shall be encouraged so to doe

Vpon the question being put to the Towne whether thier intent in grant- ing deuidents to the name of Mary Judson. that those deuidents should be the pper estate to the said Mary in distinction from the estate of Samuell Judson and his heyers. the voate being put the answer is vnanimousely nega- tiue
where vpon the Towne declared by a second voate that they did and doe intend that the Grants of the deuidents in question should remayne good to the heyers of Samuell Judson. according to the last will of the said Samuell and ordered that in all those grants so entered to Mary Judson in the Record it shall bc enterlyned in these words. to Mary Judson as Executorix to Samuell Judson and to his heyers, voated in the affirmatiue
Vpon the request of John Gaye for a smale pcell of shruffie land neere his meadow by wolfe pit hill vpon equall alloweance to the Towne. the Towne by voate grant his desire (if Sergt Fuller. Robert Ware. and Henry Wight who are a Comittee apointed for the viewe thereof) shall judge it may be spared without prjudice to the high way thereby. then they are empowered to set out what thinke fit and value the worth of it to the Towne

Nathanell Coalburne cominge this day to the Select men and aquainted them that the messures that are in his costady that belonge to the Towne as standers for the Towne messures to be tried by doe not agree one with the other he is there vpon requested and deputed to gitt them tried & rec- tifyed by the country standards att the charge of the Towne
Diuers of the Inhabatants cominge this day to the Select men and moued that some care might be takin that our Reuerent Pastor may haue his sallary yearly duely payd; and that the towne may be secured from damage by any of the bills of pportion that haue benn formerly made for the raysinge of our Reuerent Pastors sallary: which motion is takin into consid- eration and our Honerd major Lusher; and Elder Huntinge are requested and deputed to treat with our Pastor about the p"mises aboue mentioned and make retorne to the select men att there next mettinge as also to prsent sume mett exspedint which may be for the safty of our pastor & the Towne
