Judge Win W. Chinn, 88 years old. for many years a justice of the peace in Springfield, died at 6:50 o'clock this morning at his home at 607 West Harrison' atroet.


Mr. Chinn had been confined to his home by illness since last June. He was elected justice in South Campbell township in 1922 and had beld the of- fice since that time. During his Ill- ness, a daughter. Miss Frances Chinn. had been conducting the affairs of his office on St. Louis street.


Before his election as justice. Mr. Chinn served as clerk in Judge R. ! I. Trevathen's court for several years.


He is survived by his wife. his daughter, Frances; one brother, James P. Chinn. of Higginsville, Mo .; and two sisters, Mrs. Beaty Brockman of May- view. Mo., and Mrs. Pheris Buchanan of Warrensburg, Mo.


Arrangements for the funeral serv- ices will not be completed until after other relatives arrive, but the services will be held from the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral home.

A pretty home wedding was solem- nimed Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Rhodes, on Schweitzer road. when thelr daugh- ter, MIM Mabel Rhodes, became the bride of Mr. Quy 8. Pollard.


The Drida wore a charming fruck of brown eorgette with harmonizing ao- oessories and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Her sister, . Miss Hazel Rhodes, was maid of honor and wore & frock of red georgette and carried red roses. Mr. Frank Mills was best man.


The ceremony was read by the Rev- erend W. F. Goodnight before and improvised altar of palms and ferns.


Preceding the ceremony Miss Cath- "ribe Rhodes sang. "All For You." ao- companied by Miss Lillian Ithodes who also played the wedding march. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was given at which about 40 guests were entertained.


Mr. and Mrs. Pollard left for a short wedding trip after which they will be at home at 631 Deimar street.

Funeral services for Judge Will W. Chinn, 58, for many years a justice of the peace In Springfield, will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock this after- poon at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funer- al home. The Reverend Miller will officiate.


One of the best known justices In Springfield, Mr. Chinn was active In his work in the lower courts. He first was elected in 1922 as justice of South Campbell township. He held the office continually since that time.

$100,000 Estate Will Be , Divided Among Many Heirs


Disposition of an estate which la expected to exceed $100,000 is pro- vided for in the will of Mrs. Martha A. McDorman of Halltown, which was flled yesterday in Lawrence county probate court at Mount Vernon.


Conversion of all her property in- to money is directed In order that there might be a prompt settlement and division of her estate. Half of the estate is willed to relatives of her deceased husband, and the other half to her own relatives, membere of the Nicholson family.


Charles P. Cantrell of Halltown and William L. Wilson of Ash Grove are named as administrators of the estate.


INFECTION IN PIMPLE CAUSES MAN'S DEATH


Mrs. Emma E. Koehler, 1234 Nort!i Broadway avenue, received word yes- 'erdsy of the death In Fairland. Okla. of her brother-in-law. Elijah W. Gullemore.


The man's death came after a long light against blood poisoning which started from a tiny pimple on one of his fingere. First the finger was amputated, But the poisoning bad spread os to his arm. Amputation of the arm failed to check the In- flammation.


J. P. Spariin of St. Louis. a brother of Mrs. Koehler. passed through Springfield yesterday morning to at- `end the funeral.

Marshfield Man Near Death Here After Auto Crash


As the result of an accident at the intersection of Benton avenue and East Division street shortly before 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. H. C. Can- trell, widely known stock dealer and shipper of Marshfield, is near death today In A Springfield hospital


Cantrell was driving eust on Divia- lon at the time and his motor car collided with one driven by Gus Wick- -


man, bookkeeper of the Merchants Ice and Fuel company.


Cantrell's car overturned and he was thrown to the pavement. The other car was only slightly damaged and Wickman was uninjured.


The injured man was taken to a hospital in a Herman H. Lohmeyer ambulance and Dr. Wilbur Smith operated Immediately. Cantrell suf- fered a fractured akull and cuts and bruleea.


Wickman was driving an aut- be- longing to J. C. Christian, manager of the Merchants Ice and Fuel company. He was on his way to bank the day's receipts.

Before lapsing into unconsciousness the boy said the wounds were received . when a quall hunter shot at him at close range The boy's brother, Oscar, !!. however. 'ald the wounds were re- celled when Albert tried to frighten & rabbit from a brush pile and the | hammer of his cun caught on the ! brush. discharging it.


The two boys had been forbidden by their father to hunt with a gun. and it la belleved Albert tried for that :ewon to conceal the real fac's of the tragedy.


The two Ball boys went hunting Monday morning on a farm near Brandsville. Neighbors noticed when the boys returned at room that Al- beit was in distress. The boys huve uo mother and the neighbors aent for the father who immediately sum moned & physician :.


When questioned, Albert said he had been shot by a quall hunter who fired on him while he was stooping over & hollow log and who left imme- | diately. This was doubted. however. because the wounds indicated the boy had been shot at very close range .! Mr. N. G. Rensch, 39, of 749 East Loren street, who was injured in an automobile crash Thanksgiving day, died yesterday morning at her home. Mrs. Renach was Injured while on & holiday trip with her husband, who is an employe of the Frisco railroad. 8kull Fractured


She was taken to & hospital after the accident, but it was not thought ber condition was serious. Monday she grew worse and was rushed to the operating table, where it was found she suffered a fractured skull.

Marshfield Man Has Small Chance For Life After Skull Fracture


Hovering between life and death- physicians and attendants at a Springfield hospital last night ex- pressed little hope for the recovery of H. C. Cantrell, wealthy stock dealer and cattlemen of Marshfield. who was Injured in an automobile accident here Tiraraday afternoon.


Operation Performed


Cantrell was operated upon imme- diately after he was rushed to the hospital following the acoldent. An ugly skull fracture, it is feared, will cause his death.


Hurled From Anto


Cantrell was driving a motor car east on Division street when his car and one driven by Gus Wickman, bookkeeper at an ice plant here, who was driving north on Benton avenue, collided at the streets' intersection. Cantrell's car was wrecked and he was thrown to the pavement. N14


Brandsville Youth Expires of Wounds Received in Woods


WEST PLAINS, Mo., Dec. 7 .- Al- bert Ball, 15-year-old son of John Ball of Brandsville, died yesterday morning at his home of gunshot wounds mysteriously received while hunting last Monday.


The youth, before lapsing into un- consciousness, declared the wounds were received when a quail hunter shot at him at close range. The boy's brother, age 11, however, said the wounds were inflicted when the hammer of his gun caught on a bush and discharged.


As the two boys had been forbid- den by their father to hunt with a gun, It is believed Albert tried to conceal the real facts of the tragedy.
