Book A, page 16 .- (Refers to the action of last Town meeting.)-The respective surveyors having made such pro- gress in the above said affair that they suppose to have an ac- count of about or better than 600 acres suitable to be divided by itself.
Then at a Town meeting the 7th day of May 1708, it was agreed to by a major vote concerning the laying out of a di- vision of land at Ameganset to lay out one acre to an acre al- lotment, and to begin behind Cornelios Conklings Close upon the North end of it and so along to the land at Jacob Schel- linx, his Close, bought of Bishop, that land that lies between that Close and the Amiganset Closes; and secondly to begin between the two Brick-kill paths to begin next the Closes first the North side of the piece, and then to the South side of the piece to begin tho second range at the Closes again, and next to begin on the North side of John Chatfields Brick- kill path, beginning at the Westward end joining to David and Luis Conklings Closes, and next begin next to Nathaniell Bakers Closes on the South side of the path going to Brians Brick-kills and Continue that range out, and next to begin where the last division left off leaving sufficient highway be- tween each division.
And whereas some of this land abovesaid is mean therefore it is left to the discretion of the layers out to do as equal as they can to amend the quality by the quantity.
It was then also granted by major vote that any person de- siring the same should have liberty to take in small skirts or points of upland for the shortening the fencing in of their several pieces of meadow, they allowing so much out of this aforesaid division. The afore mentioned is a true record of that meeting's action, except the drawing of lots on said di- vision.
