At said meeting on the request of Will Wabetom, present- ed by Cornelios Conkling, it was by general consent per- mitted liberty to said Will to get what pole fencing (he have occasion for) upon the hither end of Meantak until he be forbidden by the said Trustees or their successors, provided he take no other but such as he uses without splitting, and did adjourn their meeting to the 29th instant at 5 of the clock in the afternoon.
According to adjournment said Trustees met and did order that John Wheeler and Robert Parsons to take care and cause the water fence at Meantauke to be repaired.
Whereas several persons being indebted to John Bee's estate, and some part of his estate lying in a condition not fit to relieve him now at his need on said consideration, said Trustees of the Freeholders and Commonalty of the Town of East-Hampton did then order and impower Cornelios Conkling and Thomas Chatfield to use their endeavor to gather in said debts and make sale of what other estate ap- pears to be his to the best advantage for his relief, said Trus- tees then ordered James Diamond and John Hedges to get the highways mended, and did adjourn their meeting to the 12th of September next after the aforesaid date.

According to adjournment said Trustees did meet on the 12th of Sept. and ordered Tho Chatfield to go to Meantake on the next day to view a convenient place to move the north side fence to, and did adjourn their meeting to the 14th day of said Sept.
According to adjournment they did meet on said 14th day and did order Thomas Chatfield, Cornelos Conkling, John Hedges, and John Wheeler to take care and provide men for the moving and setting up said fence so as to prevent crea- tures from wrongfully coming into the fatting pasture at Men- tauk, and did adjourn their meeting to the 21th day of Sept. at 5 of the clock in afternoon.

Simon Hilliar out of this year's dung money of the sheep, so as to make equivalent to 14s in pay, the which being due to him ever since John Miller and himself did keep the Town flock.
They did then also order that the North Neck as it is now, enclosed should be so kept entire for the use of the proprie- tors thereof, about the space of three weeks from the fifteenth day of said October, and so forward to the completing thereof for the fatting of cattle therein, so that whatsoever cattle of any kind shall be found pasturing therein, except such, and such number to each proprietor's right as is allowed in the trustees' order, dated July the 4th, 1704, shall be accounted trespassers and liable to the same poundage and penalty as in said order is expressed, provided they are not there by virtue of some lawful contract made with some person or persons appropriate therein, and did adjourn their meeting to the 11th of said October at 5 of the clock at night.
According to adjournment said Trustees met said 11th day and did agree with Jacob Schellinx and Daniell Osborne to put said cattle into said North Neck. They did also then or- der that 3 or 4 men should with speed spend one day to sur- vey and mend the bound-line fences at a public charge, and did adjourn their meeting to the 1Sth of this instant.
November the 4th, 1704, the Trustees of the Freeholders and Commonalty of the Town of East Hampton being legally convened did then order that the young cattle about the Town should be driven to Montauk on the next 2d day, and they with what other cattle could be readily found should be put into the Indian field at public charge, and did adjourn their meeting to the 15th day, 5 of the clock in afternoon. More- over said Trustees did then order on said 4th of November, that Ensign Conkling should pay to the Sachems 40s, and it should be allowed for in the rate to be now made on the ac- count of the fatting pasture if it might be, if not, what is yet

wanting to be allowed out of the last Meantauk rate and did adjourn their meeting as abovesaid.
Book 4, page 62 .- According to adjournment said Trus- tees did meet on the said 15th day and did then order that there should speedily be a rate made for paying the charge of fencing in the Mantauk fatting pasture, with what other charges are due concerning the fatting cattle for this year past.
They did also then order that if John Shaw do build him an house in the ground or on the ground at Meantauk, he should first give a bond to said Trustees that he would leave the same speedily after the season for whaling is ended in such manner as said Trustees shall require, and did adjourn their meeting to the 22d day of this instant at 4 of the clock in the afternoon.
According to adjournment said Trustees did meet said 22d day and did order the cow that was John Bee's should be fetched up and publication be made for sale of his estate for paying his lawful debts, and did adjourn their meeting till the 29th day of this instant at 4 of the clock in the after- noon.
According to adjournment said trustees did said 29th of November meet, and did order that (forasmuch as said cow could not be speedily found as abovesaid) that whensoever she be found and brought up she be forthwith put upon sale for the discharge of the said John Be, deceased, his lawful debts, and that several other of his goods be put upon sale upon the 6th of December, in public, for the use abovesaid, and did adjourn their meeting to the said 6th of December at 4 of the clock in the afternoon.
According to adjournment said Trustees did meet said 6th of December and did then impower Cornelios Conkling to collect their rate for the fence of the fatting pasture, and pay

the charge thereof and all other charges relating thereto as he is therein directed and did adjourn their meeting to the 13th of December at 4 of the clock in the afternoon.
According to adjournment said Trustees did meet said 13th of December and did order that five or six men be sent to Meantauke to put the cattle generally out of the Indian field into the fatting pasture as soon as may be, and did adjourn their Meeting to the 20 day of December, at 4 of the clock in the afternoon.
At a legal meeting of the trustees January the 30th 1704-5 it was ordered that Mr. Huntting rate for his maintainance should be made forthwith, and should be made sufficient for one year, and one third of a year and that nine persons which were assessed should be omitted in said rate, also that order be put up that people bring their several bills of town charge, and did adjourn their meeting to the 7th of Feb. 1704-5, at 4 of clock in the afternoon.
According to adjournment said Trustees did meet said 7th of Feb. and did order that a town rate should be made sufficient to discharge all the visible parish charge with reas- able allowance for collecting the same, and did adjourn their meeting to the 14 of said Feb. at 4 of the clock in the afternoon.
According to adjournment said Trustees did meet Febru- ary the 14th and did then depute the Constable Ebinezer Leek to be public collector for the town and county rates of this present year for the town of East-Hampton and to make payment therewith according to direction, and give account of the over-plus to the Trustees and did then agree with him to allow him therefore, nine pence per pound, and did also then order said collector to get in the number of cattle last herded at Meantake, and did then order for the fuller confirm- of said town rate, that Cornelius Conkling, John Hedges and and Thomas Chatfield should sign said rate in the name of

the Trustees of the freeholders and commonalty of the Town of East Hampton, and did adjourn their meeting to the first of March 1704-5.
Book 4 page 63 .- According to adjournment said Trustees did meet on said first of March 1704-5 and did then by gen- eral consent order that the quit-rents for this present and the last year, should be paid out of the moneys raised by sheep folding, and over paid the shepherds, and did then also order that what is due to several persons for surveying and laying out land should be paid out of said said sheep moneys so far as it would reach to the fulfilling to each person his resonable and did adjourn their meeting to the 16th of March 1704-5 at 5 of clock in afternoon.
March the 21th 1704-5,then at a legal meeting of the Trus- tees of the freeholders and commonalty of the town ot East- Hampton it was ordered that a rate be made and levied with all convenient speed to pay the charge of the latter herding cattle at Meantauk and driving the same, for the year 1704 and the year 1703, the same to be levied upon the whole stock so herded, and did adjourn their meeting to the 28th of said March at 4 of clock in afternoon.
Book A, page 792 .- Know all men by these presents that Jeremiah Conkling, of the Town of East-Hampton, hath bar- gained with me Benjamin Conkling to make and maintain forever all the share or part of fence in the lane between the land of Thomas Mulford and Benjamin Stretton which by order of the Town aforesaid did belong to the said Jeremiah Conkling by his allotment and hath also given me full satis- faction for the same ; These are therefore to ingage me and my heirs forever to make and keep in good repair at all time and times hereafter the said part and proportion of fence against the said lane that did belong unto the said Jeremiah

Between Seth Parsons of the town of East-Hampton, in the county of Suffolk, upon the Island of Nassaw, in the province of New-York, in America, yeoman, of the one party, and John Jones, carpenter, of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Seth Parsons for and in consideration of the sum of Twelve pounds to him in hand paid, hath granted and sold to the said John Jones and to his heirs forever, a certain par- cel of land containing ten acres be the same more or less, lying and being near Acabonick as it is now bounded and measured to the Eastward, bounded with a narrow strip of land next to Thomas Mulford's meadow and also on all other parts with the town's common land.

Between Lion Gardiner, Gent, in the town of East-Hamp- ton, county of Suffolk, Island of Nassau and province of New- York, on the one part, and John Evanse, glover, of the same place, hath granted and sold unto the said Evanse, a certain piece of land bounded on the northwest by the country road, on the southeast by the creek commonly called Tho. Osbourn's creek, on the southwest a little creek or cove, on the north- west by common land, for the sum of Forty-five shillings, and doth warrant this Bill of Sale unto John Evans and his heirs forever, in witness whereof I have set unto my hand and affixed my seal the day and year above written.

Witnesseth that the said Isaac Stretton for and in consideration of a certain piece of land given in exchange by the said Benjamin Stretton, hath granted and sold unto the said Benjamin and to his heirs forever, all his home lot or land that was given to him by his father's last will lying next to the land of Matthias Burnat, to the northeastward except- ing four acres as it is now measured on the front part next the town street, which the said Isaac hath sold unto James Barber, and Three acres of land be it more or less, which is the said Isaac's part of twelve acres laid out to the east side of Three Mile harbor, and Six acres of land be it more or less upon the northwest plain bounded by the land of Thomas Chatfield to the Eastward, and of Onesimos Talmage to the Westward, the land of Nathaniel Talmage to the Northward and highway to the Southward. To have and to hold the said several parcels of land, forever, and doth warrant to de- fend.

Between Benjamin Stretton, of the town of East-Hampton, county of Suffolk, upon the Island of Nassaw, in the province of New-York, in America, yeoman, of the one part, and Isaac Stretton of the same place, yeoman, of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Benjamin Stretton for and in con- sideration of several parcels of land given him in exchange by Isaac Stretton aforesaid, hath granted and sold unto the said Isaac and to his heirs forever, one-third part of eighteen acres of land more or less lying at Amagansett, bounded with the land of Cornelios Conkling to the eastward, the land of Mr. Samuel Mulford northward, and of Thomas Baker west- ward, and an highway southward; and Six acres of land upon the eastern plains, be the same more or less, lying at the two mile hollow, bounded by the land of Thomas Mul- ford and Cornelios Conkling to the westward, and field high- ways on all other parts.

Between Jeremiah Miller, of the town of East-Hampton, in the county of Suffolk upon the Island of Nassaw, in the colony of New-York, in America, yeoman, of the one party, and John Edwards of the same place, cordwainer, of the other party. Witnesseth that the said Jeremiah Miller, for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty pounds to him in hand paid by the said John Edwards, hath granted and sold unto the said John and to his heirs forever, the one-half or moiety of a parcel of land containing acres be the same more or less, lying and being in East-Hampton aforesaid, butting upon the highways that lead to Napeag to the northward, the land of Robert Dayton and Josiah Edwards to the east- ward, the field highways and the land of Lion Gardiner and Josiah Hobart to the westward. Witnesseth, that the said Wil- liam Buckland for and in consideration of the sum of Four pounds to him in hand paid, hath granted and sold unto the said John Jones and to his heirs forever, one-fifth part of that parcel of land which was laid out in Alewife Brook Neck unto the allotment of Richard Shaw, deceased, and also one-fifth part of the commonage belonging to the said lot and also the third part of the last division of meadow that was laid out unto the said Richard Shaw, and John Parsons late of East-Hampton, deceased, as by the records of East- Hampton may appear, and also one fifth part of the land that was laid out unto the aforesaid allotment in the last division.
