Book G, 320 .- [Abstract.] This Indenture made the 4th day of October, 1704.


Between John Hopping, of East-Hampton, in the county of Suffolk, upon the island of Nassaw, in the province of New-York, in America, of the one party, and Samuel Carter, of Elizabethtowne, in New East Jersey, on the other party. Witnesseth, that the said John Hopping for and in consider- ation of the affection he bears unto the said Samuell Carter, hath given, granted and sold unto the said Samuel Carter, and to his heirs forever in reversion, that is to say, after the death of the said John Hopping and his now wife, 9 acres of the home land on which his now dwelling house standeth to- gether with the house and all housing and fences that shall be there standing upon the same, and also one quarter part of a share of the land at hither end of Meantauket and four acres commonage in the town platt here about the town of East- Hampton.


To have and to hold the same forever after the decease of the said John Hopping and his wife, and doth warrant to defend.

Between Samuel Carter of Elizabeth town in the province of New East Jersie, of the one part, and John Shaw of East- Hampton, in the county of Suffolk, upon the island of Nas- saw, in the colony of New-York, in America, of the other part.' Witnesseth, that the said Samuel Carter for and in consideration of the sum of Forty pounds to him in hand paid hath granted and sold unto the said John Shaw and his heirs forever in reversion, that is to say, after the death of John Hopping and his now wife, Nine acres of land in the home lot and addition that belongs to the now dwelling house of the said John Hopping, with all appurtenances thereunto belonging, and also one quarter part of a share of land and privilege on the hither end of Meantauket that lieth to the westward of the Fort pond, and Four acres of cammonage in the town plot of this town of East-Hampton. Between John Hopping of the Town of East-Hampton, in the county of Suffolk, upon the island of Nassaw, in the province of New-York, in America, and Samuel Carter of Elizabethtowne, in New East Jersey of the one party, and Elizabeth Smith, daughter of David Smith, late of East- Hampton aforesaid, deceased, of the other party. Witness- eth, that the said John Hopping and Samuel Carter for and in consideration of the love and affection which they bear unto the said Elizabeth Smith, have given, granted and con- firmed unto the said Elizabeth Smith and to her heirs (only with this reserve, that in case the said Elizabeth shall die in her non-age or without issue, the lands to be demised are still to be to them, viz .: the five acres of land at the home lot to be and remain unto the heirs of John Hopping, and the eight acres of land in the little plain to be to the said Samuel Carter and his heirs) to say five acres of land in the home land which the said John Hopping now possesseth to be laid out to the eastward of the lane that leads out of this town

Book G, page 40} .- (Abstract.)-This Indenture made the 24th day of March, 1704-5, between John Hopping of East- hampton, in the County of Suffolk, upon the Island of Nas- saw, in the province of New York, in America, yeoman, of the one part, and David Conkling of the same place, yeoman, of the other part, witnesseth, that the said John Hopping for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty-seven shillings to him in hand paid, hath granted and sold unto the said David Conkling and to his heirs forever, one piece of meadow lying in the eastward part of Napeage meadow, containing about three quarters of an acre, bounded by the meadow of Samuell Parsons eastward, with the meadow of Enoch Fithian west- ward, the harbor northward, and the meadow of Capt. John Wheeler southward. And also said John Hopping sells him his part of an allotment of meadow at Napeage aforesaid that lies undivided between said Hopping, Capt. John Wheeler and John Stretton, bounded with the meadow of said John Stretton eastward, and that meadow which did belong unto Richerd Stretton westward, both which lots were laid to said Hopping in the right of that allotment he bought of Peregrine Stanborough, to have and to hold the same forever, and doth warrant to defend. This Indenture made the 26th day of March, 1705, between Thomas Barnes of the Town of Easthampton, County of Suffolk, upon the Island of Nassaw, in the province of New York, weaver, of the one part, and John Davis, Junior, of the same place, weaver, on the other part, witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of thirty-one pounds and seventeen shillings current money of New-York, to him in hand paid, doth bargain and sell unto said John Davis, five acres and an half of land being bounded northwardly partly by the land that belongs to Thomas Osborne and partly by land that belongs to the allotment of Richard Stretton, deceased, westwardly by the land that belongs to Nathaniell Barnes, east wardly partly by land or home lot of Abiell Carle, and partly by land that doth belong to Benjamin Osborne, southerly by the Town street known and commonly called by the name of Newtown street. The said Thomas Barnes doth also sell unto ye said Davis all his buildings and fences on said land, also one twelfth part of a share of Commonage of a thirteen acre allotment throughout this Town bounds except Meantauk, and all privilege belong- ing to the same. Also one half of a piece of meadow lying and being on the east side of Accabonack harbor, being bounded northward by the beach, southward by the meadow that belongs to Nathaniel Baker, to the eastward by the woods, to the westward by the water ; the other half of said piece belongs unto Nathiell Barnes ; to have and to hold the same forever, and doth warrant to defend.
