Madison, Ia .; after that in St. Joseph, Mo .; came to Chicago, 1861, engaged in buying uncurrent money for a time; was in merchant tailoring 3 years; then became partner in a clothing firm under style of Leopold, Kuh & Co., for 14 years; withdrew in 1878 and spent 18 months in Europe; re- turned, 1880, and established, with partners, the wholesale clothing house of Kuh, Nathan & Fischer, from which he retired in 1900.
