Valen- tine, of Chicago, May 1, 1880; children: Eliza- beth M., Archibald T., Edith, Annie M., Henri- etta. Admitted to bar, 1885, and since engaged in gen. practice; was partner of the late Major Lawrence M. Ennis, in firm of Ennis & Coburn, 1895-8; senior mem. firm of Coburn & Case, un- til 1908, since which time has been alone. Ac- tively engaged in the condemnation suits when the right of way was acquired by the main channel of the Drainage Canal; has been en- gaged in many of the most important civil, and a few of the important criminal cases that have been tried in the courts of Cook Co .; has in his library 21 volumes of cases in which he has been engaged, in which opinions have been rendered from the Supreme Court and Appel- late Courts of Ill .; is said to have the largest practice in point of numbers than any lawyer in Chicago; noted for success as a jury advo- cate.
