Aqueally to a warrant used by the Selectmen & tober 28 th 1893 the voters of the first freuenct in said tour met at the Town Hall on Tuesday the 7th of Howcenter 1893.


The voters were called to order at 10 vclock A.M. and the warrant read to the Warden John Parkhurst, The Ballot box was then fined and shown to be empty then closed and locked and the key placed in the hands of A. H. Jours Constable. The box registered. 000 The polls were closed at 2.10 oclock P.M.

At a meeting of the Town & lecks of Georgetown Groveland, Topefield and Boxford held at the office of the & lack of Georgetown Nov. 17 th 1893. For the purpose of ascertainings the result of the voting for Representative to the General Court for the 7th Essex District.

4. 7. Voted That the same method as was adopted last year relative to compensation of Town Officers beadopted this year with the following an end- ments


1st Amendment: For a man one dollar and fifty cents a day of nine hours, while in actual service; for a single horse two dollars a day of nine hours: for a pair of horses three dollars a day of nine hours.


2nd Amendment. To strike out the winds

The Treasurer and Collector shall receive One Hundred Dollars, The Road Commissioners shall be paid two dollars a day while in actual. service, She has for the men whom they employ to work on the roads and for the teams and implements to be used thereon shall be

For a man one dollar and fifty cents a day. of nine hours while in actual service, for a yoke of ren two dollars a day of nine hours. for a single house two dollars a day of nine hours; for a pair of horses three dollars a day of nine hours; and for a flow and on shovel five cents un hour for each.


And while frathing snow u. man shall be allowed twenty centr an hour, and for a yoke of en twenty cents an hour, and for a pair of horses thirty cents an hour, That all other bills shall be allowed by the Selectmen except their own bills for services rendered to the Town, there bills must be brought before the Town to be allowed.


And it is further moved that the Road Commission- is shall ut the end on close of each months work, hand in to the Selectmen a detailed account of all the work done on the roads during the month, how many men were employed, the amount paid to each man; also the amount of money paid for repairs on the Road Machine, and all other matters needed in a detailed account.


And the Road Commissioners shall not expend more money than the Town has appropri- ated for then untill they consult the Selectmen and get their permission to do so.

The register of the Bullet box when the first ballot was presented indicated 0.0.0. and the Ballot Bar was empty. At the close of the voting the register on the Ballot Box indicated (14) rotes and the Check List indicated (14) voters), whom opening the Ballot Box it was found to contain

1894. Record of Precinct two (2) Boxford November sixth 1894. Persuant to the foregoing Warrant the inhabitants of Precinct two (2) qualified to vote as the law directs, assembled at the time and place, and for the purpose therein expressed, At ten(10) clock in the ferenon the warrant calling the meeting was read by the Precinct Clerk, who then publicly opened the ballot box and the same having been personally examined by the election Officers and the public, was found to be empty. The ballot box was immediately locked the register indicating 000 and the key of the bux was taken and retained by Charles F. Austin, the. Constable in attendance.


The Clerk then called whom the inhabitants of said Precinct qualified by law to vote to give in the ballots for the purpose expressed in said warrant, The ballot box remained locked while the polls were open, At two o clock and fifteen minutes .M. the polls were closed. The ballot bix was found to register forty eight (48) The officers in charge of the check list in the presence of the other officers and the public, counted in a distinct and audible voice the names checked in said list and found the whole number to be forty eight (48) The ballot box, without being removed from the public view, was then opened by the wardero, the ballots were taken therefrom, and audibly counted one byone, and the clerk public announced the whole number to be forty eight (48)
