Record of Precinct two (2) Boxford. November fifth (5th) 1895.
Pursuant to the Selectmen's Warrant the inhabitants of Precinct two (2) qualified to vote as the law directs, assembled at the time and place and for the purpose therein expressed.
At half fast nine clock (9:30) in the firenon the Warrant calling the meeting was read by the Precinct Clerk, who then publicly opened the ballot box and the same having been personally examined by the election officers and the public was found to be empty. The ballot box was then immediately locked the register indicating 000 and the key of the box was taken and retained by Warren M. Cole the Constable in attendance. The Clerk then called upon the inhabitants of said Precinct qualified by law to vote, to give in the ballots for the purpose expressed in said Warrant The ballot box remained locked while the polls were open, At one oclock and fifty four minutes 1:54 P. Perley of Boxford. to carry on the business of slaughtering neat cattle (including calves), sheeh an swine within the limits of the town of Befood for the year ending April 30, 1897 In support of this application Istate the following facts :-
The names in full and addresses of all owners and persons carrying on said business are:t- William & Perley. West Boxford.
The slaughter house on premises where the business is to be conducted is located in the town of Boxford and consists of one frame building about twelve feet x sixteen feet with cellar.
The business to be carried on there at and the products thereof to be sold or used for food are I carcasses of meat cattle and swine, in most cases slaughtered for my neighbors.
The estimated number ofanimals to be slaughtered thereat per week are one neat cattle; ten swine. I intend to slaughter said animals at the said establishment on the followingnamed days and at the designated times of day in each week: - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at ten oclock in the fornoon, and I further certify that the above-designated days and times of days are selected in good faith, and that in my judgment it is necessary to daughter om as many days and at the times above set forth in order to property carry on the business to be conducted at said establishment.
