× should be No.3 school I think J. w. P.
When at the close of the school year in June 190 six pupils graduated from No. 2 school to enter the Perley Free School, there remained but five pupils. The Committee considered the advisability uniting this school with No. 3, and providing transportation for the purfils. This contract was awarded to Mr. Matthews, he to take the pupils from their homes and return them at $1:25 per diem. The increased advantage to pupils and teachers 2

1907. to the utmost in the work. More time is given to the classes and the teachers are able to give more thought and time where each has only half the number of grades to instruct.
To accommodate the school house to the new arrangement, a recitation room has been partitioned off at one corner, and at present answers all demands fairly well; the greatest difficulty being the heating of the room on very cold days. It has been suggested that No. 3 building be moved onto the ground with No 2 and utilized for either the upper or the lower grades.
While there are weaknesses we feel that on the whole the schools have gained during the past year. The gains are due to the larger uniformity in the work and to the continuous and persistent endeavor and thought of those actively interested under the School Committee in solving the many problems that have avisen.
The work in detail is set forth in the Superintendents report which is printed in connection with this.
