42. Harry Taylor, b. 28 Oct. 1877, d. 6 May 1949; unm. He was grad- uated from Massachusetts Agricultural College (now University of Mass.) in 1896. In 1901 he entered the Philippine Government Service as an instructor in its nautical school. Later he became explorer and fiber expert for that bureau, and from 1908-1914 he was assistant director of agriculture in the Philippines. In June 1946, he received the honorary degree of Doctor of Science from Mass. State College. He was interested in abaca, the hemp from which manila rope is made, and led in setting up plantations in Panama, marking the first efforts to grow abaca in this part of the world.

TIMOTHY1 ENGRAM, son of Timothy and Widow Abigail ( ....... ) Hathaway Ingraham, b. 5 July 1754, d. 3 Dec. 1839; m. in Pelham, 6 Sept. 1776, Priscilla Richmond (sister of Zebu- lon Richmond No. 1), b. in Taunton, 3 Oct. 1759. She d. 4 Oct. 1848. He was a Rev. soldier, serving from Chesterfield, and re- ceived a pension. After his death his wife, Priscilla, received $76.39 per annum "as long as she should remain unmarried". In 1829, Timothy and Priscilla were "of Troy" (now Fall River) but later returned, as both died in Chesterfield.
The early spelling of this family name was Ingraham or Engra- ham and later changed to Engram. Most of the Chesterfield records use the latter spelling.
