Their first two children are supposed to have been born in Chesterfield but no record has been found; other chil- dren born in Hartwick.


ZACHEUS PERRY FAMILY


ZACHEUS PERRY married in Chesterfield, (int. 9 Sept. 1787), Rebecca Witherell (No. 98). A daughter, Ceany, was born 25 Dec. 1788. They probably had other children. In a town meeting held on 15 May 1797, "The Committee that was chosen by the Town to inquire into the circumstances, age and state of Zach. Perry's children report as follows (viz) that Mr. Sam- uel Witherel be allowed the sum of one hundred dollars as a compensation for his supporting Zac. Perry's children." No further record of this family has been found.


PERRY, CHARLES D., of Worthington, m. in Westfield, 2 Jan. 1904, Laura Alzina Cowing, divorced wife of Herbert Levi Bry- ant (No. 80). She d. 1 Oct. 1947.


PERRY, Dr. DANIEL O., and his wife, Jane Perry, were ad- mitted to the Chesterfield Church 2 July 1848. They were granted a letter to the church in Portland, Maine, 31 Dec. 1853. Children : (1) Evelyn, b. in Lanesboro, d. 6 Feb. 1848, ae. 2-8-0; (2) Emma Frances, b. 13 Sept. 1848.

"Harry A. Hescock and C. Eugene Johnson purchased the old Cowing place in Chesterfield on Ireland Street, in 1899; re- modeled the house, took their brides there to live. The place later burned to the ground with heavy loss. In 1935, they moved to Westfield and went into the dairy business which, in 1961, still runs under the firm name of Hescock and Johnson. Mr. Hescock died in Westfield, 4 Nov. 1952."
