GEER, NATHAN, and family were residents at the time of the 1790 Census and were paying taxes here in 1795.
GIBBS, NATHAN, m. (1) Sally , who d. 8 Mar. 1826. He m. (2) (int. 18 Aug .. 1826), Mrs. Asenath Smith of West- hampton. Nathan Gibbs died intestate (papers dated 1842), leaving widow Asenath and three minor children, (1) Nathan W., (2) Asenath H., (3) Sarah W. At the time of death, Nathan Gibbs was of Southampton.
GIDDINGS, WILLIAM, m. (1) Nancy who d. 17 Dec. 1841, ae. 36. He m. (2) (int. 4 Mar. 1842), Wealthy Bart- lett of Worthington. One son by first wife: Joseph, b. 28 Mar. 1838.

Thaddeus Gilbert received land in Chesterfield, under his father's will, in 1790, but he probably came here about 1779

There were ten children, all by first wife, b. in Cummington. A dau., Mary, b. about 1823, m. (1) S. H. Shumway, (2) Andrew Everett (No. 5), (3) Calvin Damon (No. 35). Another dau., Sarah Starkweather (the 10th child), m. in Cummington, Jona- than P. Bryant (No. 49).

10. LUKE GILBERT (Samuel4, Henry3, Thomas2 1), and his wife, Elizabeth (Barnes) Gilbert, resided in Brookfield. Three of their children came to Chesterfield :

GILBERT, SAMUEL W., and his wife were received into the Church from the Belchertown Church, 4 Aug. 1816. According to land deeds, the wife was Polly. No children were born here. In 1827, Samuel W. Gilbert was "of Medway".
