COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.
NORFOLK, SS.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Brookline, GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Brookline, qualified to vote in elections, to meet at the Town Hall in said town, on Tuesday, the second day of Novem- ber next, it being the Tuesday next after the first Monday in said month, at twelve of the clock, noon, at which time and place the polls will be opened, and kept open until thirty minutes past four of the clock in the afternoon, during which time they will be required to give in their votes to the Select- men for the following State and County officers ; to wit :
Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Councillor for the Third Councillor District, Secretary of the Commonwealth, Treas- urer and Receiver General, Auditor of Accounts, Attorney General, Senator for the First Norfolk Senatorial District, Representative to the General Court for the Fifteenth Nor- folk District, one County Commissioner for three years, all to be voted for on one ticket.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Selectmen, four days at least be- fore the day of said meeting.
Given under our hands and seals at Brookline aforesaid, this eighteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

NORFOLK, SS. BROOKLINE, October 26, 1875.
By virtue of the within precept, I have notified and warned the legal voters of the town of Brookline, qualified to vote in elections, by leav- ing an attested copy of this warrant at their last and usual places of abode.

In pursuance of the foregoing warrant, the inhabitants of the town of Brookline, qualified to vote in elections, met at the Town Hall in said town, on Tuesday, the second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hun- dred and seventy-five, and were called to order at twelve of the clock, noon, by Thomas Parsons, Esq., chairman of the Board of Selectmen. The Town Clerk then read the warrant calling said meeting and the return thereon of the constable who served the notices.
The polls were then opened for the reception of votes, and were kept open until thirty minutes past four of the clock in the afternoon, when, after giving due notice thereof, and an opportunity to any legal voter who had not voted, time so to do if he desired, they were declared closed.
The Selectmen and Town Clerk then proceeded to sort and count the votes given in, and the whole number of votes so given in was seven hundred and ninety-six, which were sorted, counted, and declaration thereof made in open town meeting as is by law required, and were for the following persons and officers ; to wit, -
Governor : Seven hundred and eighty-nine.
Alexander H. Rice, of Boston, five hundred and six.
William Gaston, of Boston, two hundred and seventy.
Charles Francis Adams, of Quincy, seven.
John I. Baker, of Beverly, two.
Wendell Phillips, of Boston, four.
Lieutenant Governor : Seven hundred and eighty-seven.
Horatio G. Knight, of Easthampton, had five hundred and seventeen. John Quincy Adams, of Quincy, had two hundred and sixty-four. William F. Bartlett, of Pittsfield, had five. James Driscoll, of Brookline, had one.

Secretary of the Commonwealth : Seven hundred and eighty-nine. Henry B. Pierce, of Abington, had five hundred and twenty-seven. George H. Munroe, of Boston, had two hundred and sixty-two.

George F. Verry, of Worcester, had two hundred and fifty-eight.
Senator for the First Norfolk District : Seven hundred and ninety-one. Albert Palmer, of Boston, had five hundred and twenty-five. Richard Olney, of Boston, had two hundred and sixty-six.
County Commissioner for Three Years : Seven hundred and eighty-eight.
Nathaniel F. Safford, of Milton, had five hundred and thirty. S. Worcester Hollis, of Braintree, had two hundred and fifty-eight.
Representative to the General Court for the Fifteenth Norfolk District : Seven hundred and eighty-seven.
John W. Candler, of Brookline, had three hundred and twenty.
Moses Williams, Jr., of Brookline, had four hundred and sixty-seven, and was declared elected Representative from this town to the next Gen- eral Court.
In voting the check list was used, and no person was al- lowed to vote until his name was found on the list and checked.
The business of the meeting being completed, the returns were filled up, signed by the Selectmen, and countersigned by the Town Clerk, and sealed up in open town meeting as required by law, and were delivered to the Town Clerk to forward to their several places of destination.
The votes cast, and the list of voters which was used at the meeting, were also sealed up and endorsed by the Selectmen,

The meeting was then declared dissolved by the chairman of the Selectmen.

In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Brookline, qualified to vote in elections, to meet at the Town Hall in said town, on Thursday, the thirtieth day of December current, at one of the clock in the afternoon, for the following purposes ; to wit, -
First. To choose a Moderator (who should be chosen by ballot).
Second. To hear and act upon reports of town officers and committees.
Third. To hear and act upon the final report of the Water Commis- sioners, and to see if the town will raise and appropriate such sums of money as shall be necessary to pay all liabilities incurred by them in the construction of the water works.
Fourth. To see if the town will make an additional appropriation of fifteen hundred dollars for the support of the poor.
Fifth. To see if the town will lay water pipes in Pleasant street from Egmont street to Dummer street, and through Dummer street to St. Pauls street, and along said last-named street to the house occupied by George Dexter.
Sixth. To see if the town will choose or appoint a Water Board agree- ably to the provisions of Chapter 343 of the Acts of the year 1872.
Seventh. To see if the town will elect Park Commissioners; and, if it shall so determine, to elect the same under the provisions of Section 16 of Chapter 185 of the Acts of the General Court in the year 1875,

entitled "An Act for the laying out of public parks in or near the city of Boston," on the petition of Edward Atkinson and others.
Eighth. To see if the town will direct the Selectmen to cause the gas. to be lighted all night at the corners of streets, on the petition of W. B. Trull and others.
Ninth. To see if the town will appropriate the sum of one thousand dollars in addition to the appropriation for schools, as asked for by the School Committee.
Tenth. To see if the town will authorize the building of a new bridge. over the railroad tracks of the New York & New England Railroad Company, at the crossing on Brighton street near the Reservoir Station, on the petition of Jacob W. Pierce and others.
Eleventh. To see if the town will accept and allow a new town way leading southwesterly from Irving street, at the estate of J. W. Edgerly, as laid out and located by the Selectmen.
Twelfth. To hear the report of the Selectmen upon the establishment of a grade, and take such action upon the same as may be authorized by the provisions of Chapter thirty-eight of the acts of the year 1873, enti- tled " An Act to establish a grade in the town of Brookline."
Thirteenth. To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to give a confirmatory deed of a piece of land sold by the town to Thomas Seav- erns, March, 1861.
Fourteenth. To see if the town will vote to enter upon its records the resolutions adopted at a meeting of the citizens of Brookline, held on the evening of November 24, 1875, to take action with reference to the death of the Hon. John Wells.
Fifteenth. To see if the town will accept and allow a new town way, known as Walter avenue, running from Washington street to Flora street, so called, as laid out and located by the Selectmen.
Sixteenth. To see if the town will accept and allow a new town way, known as Flora street, running from the street known as Juniper street to Walter avenue, so called, as laid out and located by the Selectmen.
Seventeenth. To see if the town will accept and allow a new town way, known as Juniper street, running from the street called Flora street to Morss avenue, so called, as laid out and located by the Selectmen.
Eighteenth. To see if the town will accept and allow a new town way, known as Morss avenue, running from Walnut street to the street known as Walter avenue, as laid out and located by the Selectmen.
Nineteenth. To see if the town will accept and allow a new town way in continuation of St. Mary's street, from Beacon street to Monmouth street, as laid out and located by the Selectmen.
Twentieth. To see if the town will lay water pipes in the ways known as Juniper street, Flora street, Morss avenue, and Walter avenue.
Twenty-first. To see if the town will lay water pipes in Brighton street on the petition of Jacob W. Pierce and others.
Twenty-second. To see if the town will accept and allow a public main sewer from Washington street to Charles river, as laid out and located by the Selectmen.
Twenty-third. To see if the town will raise and appropriate money to construct sewers in the streets of the town.

Twenty-fourth. To raise and appropriate such sums of money as may be required for any or all of the foregoing articles.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Selectmen, four days at least be- fore the day of said meeting.
