A postoffice and small settlement located at the head of Little Bay de Noquette, in Masonville township, Delta county, 12 miles north of Escanaba, the county seat, and 6 east of Day's River station, on the C. & N. W. Ry. It has a steam saw-mill, and exports only lumber. During the sea- son of navigation communication is had with Escanaba daily by boat. Mail, via Day's River, daily. R. Peacock, post- master.

Exports, wood, railroad ties, cedar posts, etc. Daily stages, with mail, to Sebewa- ing and Caseville; fare to each, 75 cents. Population, 30. A shoemaker and tin- smith are needed. BAY VIEW.


One mile north of Petoskey, on Little Traverse bay, is the location of the sum- mer encampment of the Methodist de- nomination. It contains 100 cottages, a hotel, and a permanent population of about 50, and is reached by street railway and steamboat hourly during the summer.
