appropriate $19,250.00 to defray the expenses of the Board of Health for 1962. Results of Ballot Vote, Yes-30, No- 83. Votes cast 113. Motion Defeated.


Mr. Francis T. Mullin moved that the Town vote to raise and appropriate $5,500.00 for the Law Department, with the approval of the Advisory Board this amount was VOTED.


Mr. Albert E. Berthiaume moved that the $1,104,096.74 be raised and appropriated for Department Expenses for 1962. MOTION VOTED.


Article 4.


Motion by Albert E. Berthiaume that the Town vote to authorize the Treasurer with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, to borrow from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the Financial Year beginning 1962 and to issue a note or notes therefor payable in one year, in accord- ance with Chapter 44, Section 17, of the General Laws. VOTED.

Motion by Albert E. Berthiaume that $275.00 be raised and appropriated for the purpose of obtaining bathing priv- ileges at the so-called Nicas property on Main Street at Sar- gent's Lake. It is also recommended that the Selectmen be authorized to effect to lease with Mr. Nicas, or subsequent owners, as regards the so-called Nicas property, said lease not to exceed $275. VOTED.


Article 8.


Motion by Gerald F. Guilfoyle that $3,765.00 be raised and appropriated to provide lifeguards and equipment at Sargent and Rochdale Lakes and to provide bus transporta- tion from Cherry Valley to Lake Sargent, the money to be used as follows :-

Article 11.


Motion by Gerald F. Guilfoyle to raise and appropriate $7,500.00 as the Town's share of the cost of Chapter 90 Con- struction, and to transfer from the E. & D. Account the sum of $15,000.00 as the States share and $7,500.00 as the Coun- ty's share to be reimbursed to the Town and returned to the E. & D. Account when received. VOTED.


Article 12.


Motion by Albert E. Berthiaume to raise and appropri- ate $3,000.00 as its share of the cost of Chapter 90, Main- tenance and to transfer from the E. & D. Account $3,000.00 as the States share also $3,000.00 as the County's share to be reimbursed to the Town and returned to the E. & D. Account is received. VOTED.

Article 17.


Moved by Edward Duane that the Town raise and ap- propriate $795.00 for the permanent repair of the Edward J. Philpot Square, the work to be done by the Street De- partment as outlined on said plan and to be completed by Memorial Day if possible. VOTED.


Article 18.


Motion by Edward Duane that the Town authorize the following Committee, consisting of the Street Superintend- ent, one member of the Board of Selectmen, Mr. John Keen- an, Mr. Maurice Berthiaume and the Veterans' Grave Regis- tration Officer as Chairman, to study, draw up plans and specifications and relocation of the Lawrence F. McCarty Memorial Square and the rebuilding of the approach of Mc- Carthy Avenue to Main Street. This Committee to report its findings at a Special Town Meeting as soon as the Informa- tion is compiled. VOTED.

Article 22.


Motion by Albert L. Nash that $6,630.38 be transferred from the Road Machinery Rental Account to the Road Ma- chinery Maintenance Account. VOTED.


Article 23.


On motion of Albert L. Nash it was voted to approve, ratify and authorize the action of the Board of Selectmen in securing Workmens' Compensation Insurance covering Town Employees. VOTED.


Article 24.


Motion by Gerald F. Guilfoyle to transfer the $200.00 paid yearly to the Town by the Town of Oxford for fire pro- tection by the Rochdale Fire Department from the General Treasury to the Fire Department Account to be used solely by the Rochdale Company for necessary expenses. VOTED ..


Article 25.


Motion by Albert E. Berthiaume that the Town allocate vacation pay and Holiday pay to all regular police and High- way Department employees under the following schedule:


One week Vacation after one year of service (32 weeks of work Minimum per calendar year).


Two weeks vacation after five years of service (32 weeks of work minimum per calendar year.)


Five holidays, as follows: New Years, Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas.


Regular police personnel will get an extra day off in lieu of holiday inasmuch as they are on a weekly pay schedule.


and that $2,644.00 be raised and appropriated to cover the cost of this program. VOTED.
