LESLEY.
GEORGE LESLEY was among the first settlers in town. He came from Gray, and Mr. Noyes says he moved in the next day after Joseph Stevens came, and into the house with Stevens. He begun on a lot near Mr. Stevens, on what was afterward known as the Isaiah Hall farm, and afterward owned by the third William Frost. Mr. Lesley died in 1800. He had two sons, William and Amasa, who occupied the homestead after they became of age. In 1807, we hear of William Lesley at Fuller's Corner, but what became of the descendants of our early settler, cannot now be stated. Probably they left town quite early. The maiden name of Mrs. Lesley, and whether there were other children than those already stated, are alike unknown to the writer.
