HISTORY OF NORWAY.

CIVIL OFFICERS.

The following residents of Norway have been nominated by the Governor of Maine, to the offices set against their names, since the separation from Massachusetts in 1820. How many of these qualified by taking the oath of office cannot now be stated with absolute cer- tainty, but probably most of them did. Many of them were reappointed to the same office many times, but only the date of the first appointment, as it appears upon the State Archives is given here.

Job Eastman, Luther Farrar, Levi Whitman, Joshua Smith, Henry Rust, Aaron Wilkins, and per- haps others, had held Justice's commissions, prior to the separation.
