Injuries auffered Monday afternoon when he was crushed between two automobiles on a highway near Ava yesterday morning proved fatal to Turner Shaffeels. 37, owner of & gen- eral store, eix miles east of Green- field. He died at 8:45 o'clock in St. John's hospital.


Although suffering from grievious Internal Injuries, the injured man made a brave fight for his life and It was not until 10 o'clock Wednesday night that he became unconscious. The body was taken to Greenfield for funeral services and burial by an undertaker of that city.

Mr. Reed came to Springfield by chance. He had been living in Fay- etterille, Art. and went to Clinton. Mo., to work in a drug store. While making the return trip home on a I vult he stopped overnight in Spring- field. So00 the firm became the Robberson and Reed Drug company Later J. N. Barrett, Mr. Reed's broth- Inlaw, became a partner in the buel- ness and It was Reed and Barrett Drug company. In May. 1901. Mr Itred's ann. W. E. Reed, hought Mr Barrett'a share of the business and since then it has been known as the 1 Perd and Son company.
