My father (Lorenzo Flower) had a brother Francis Flower(s) living somewhere east of us in New York, cannot recall just where and he had a brother, Hiram, that years ago, lived in Wisconsin. At one time when my aunt wrote the girls were living in Beloit, Wis., ! and Lorenzo and Eugene lived in Nebraska. It seems to me we heard that Eugene moved to Min- nesota. We have heard of. two Filowers boys in Minnesota never found out anything in par- ticular. In '95 I think John and William lived at Stage Center, Iowa .I am sending you the letter received soon after we moved out here (Iowa.) They did not care to spend the money at that time for a genealogy of the family. A. P. Flower that lived north of El- burn, in Kane county, Ill. ,was a third cousin to my father and he claimed to be related to Roscoe Flowers that was mayor of New York city many years ago. The records I have show that 3 of the 10 children of George J. 4 Snell and Elizabeth 4 Wag- goner died young. They were: 4. James born Palatine, . N. Y. Jan. 31, 1813, record Stone Ara- bia Dutch Ref. church which gives as sponsors Jacob Snell, Esq. and wife Elizzabeth. Who were they? James died May 24, 1822, according to Col. Bell's da- ta. This death rec. wanted.

8. Col. Bell's data gives George S. 5 Snell as a son, born Jan. 29, linger. Unmarried. 1822, died Feb. 20, 1822. These records wanted. What does "S" stand for ?

Bell is doubt- ful about him, but I am including him, until proved wrong, as a son of above George J. 4 Snell and Elizabeth 4 Waggoner for the following reasons: 1. His bapt. record In Stone Arabia Luth. Ch. gives him born May 5, 1817 and his parents as George J. Schnell and Elizabeth. His sponsors were Martin J. Dillenbeck and wife

(Waggoner) Snell's sister Cath- arine who married Dr. Joshua Webster ,includes "Dr. Jeremiah" as one of the children. 3. Mary Havens, a granddau. of above Elizabeth (Waggoner) Snell's brother Joseph Waggoner (Wag- ner) who married Minerva Riggs, included Dr. Jeremiah Snell's obit- way In her old scrap book of fam- ily obituaries and newspaper clippings. Said obituary is un- dated but it states that he died in Port Jackson, N. Y. on the 11th Inst., age 62, that he was born in Palatine in 1816, having' rem. from Palatine where he had be- gun his medical practice. ,to Port Jackson in 1842 and that he was elected to the State Legislature In the Republican ticket in 1858. Members of his family were not mentioned. W. P. Webster's dia- grams do not give the name of Jeremiah's wife but do give

Cr., which gives as sponsors William Snell and wife Caty, prob. the infant's Uncle William Snell and his wife Catharine Gros. Who was this Catharine Gros ? dled where ? when ? lived near the Himes residence, there. He held various official po: sitions, including State Represen- tative. He was captain in com- mand of removing , the Indiaans (about 150) from Livingston Co. Afterwards he and Tom Schoon- hoven took government land near Elgin, Ill., where they moved in 1846. Washington Wing was Lucinda farmer there. He was a Republi- can in politics.
