Do Order, that said road be ascertained, described and entered of record in the Town Clerk's office of said town according to a survey which has been made un- der our direction, as follows, to wit:
Beginning at a point on the south side of the above described highway nearly opposite to the house an- ciently of Jacob Schellinger, and bearing from the south corner of said house S. 183 degrees E. dist. 2.30 chains (A on the map), running thence S. 30} degrees E. 3.97 chains to B, then S. 143 degrees E. 5.95 chains to C, then S. 24 degrees E. 30.41 chains to D, to high- way on the south end of Indian well plain lots.
And we do further order that the line of said sur- vey (the red line on the map) be the center of said road, and that said road be of the width of 2.00 chains at A, and narrowing regularly to B to 1 chain in width and to continue 1 chain in width to D and to the end thereof.

The report of the Overseers of the Poor was read and accepted.
It was voted that the bill of James H. Price be laid on the table.
It was voted that two thousand dollars be raised for the support of the poor for the year ensuing.
The report of the Supervisor was read and adopted.
It was voted that two hundred dollars be raised for the use of the Supervisor for the year ensuing.
The report of the Commissioners of Highways was read and adopted.
It was voted to raise two hundred dollars for the use of the Commissioners of Highways for the year ensuing.
It was resolved, that Stephen L. Hedges, Esq., be associated with the Supervisor of the Town of East- Hampton to oppose the passage of Assembly Bill No. 305, entitled, " An Act in relation to the distribution of monies reimbursed the several townships of Suffolk County for excess of years, provided by Chapter 29, Laws of 1865.
It was resolved that Samuel B. Gardiner, Esq., be associated with the Supervisor and Stephen L. Hedges to carry out the foregoing resolution.
It was voted that the following named persons be Pound Masters for the year ensuing, viz: James M. Strong, Albert L. Hedges, Joseph H Barnes, Charles E. C. Homan, Samuel H. Miller.

Page 102, Book K .- A special town meeting was held at the old church in the Town of East-Hampton on Tuesday, May 10th, 1870, according to previous legal notice, " for the purpose of taking into consider- ation the propriety of appointing a committee to con- fer with Mr. O. Charlick, President of the Long Island Railroad Company, in relation to extending the ' branch road' through to this village; also for the purpose of raising money to defray the expenses of said committee, and for the building of the road."
Henry B. Tuthill, Esq., was chosen Chairman, and John C. Hedges, acted as Clerk.
On motion, the call for the meeting was read.
A resolution was offered, that a committee of five persons be appointed to confer with Mr. Charlick on the subject mentioned in the call for this meeting, and on the vote of the meeting, it was decided in the negative.

Whereas, a road leading from the north end of the main village of East-Hampton, opposite to the land of Merry A. Parsons on the one side and the north corner of the land of heirs of Sylvanus Jones on the other side to the south end of the said village to the boggy land of John D. Hedges and the north end of the calf pasture lane has been used for twenty years as a highway, but has never been sufficiently ascer- tained, described and entered of record in the Town Clerk's office. Now, therefore, we, the undersigned, the Commissioners of Highways of said town, all of the said Commissioners having been duly notified to attend and deliberate on the subject of this order, Do Order, that the said road be ascertained, described and entered of record in the Town Clerk's office of said town, according to a survey which has been made un- rections as follows, to wit: Beginning at a stone (A on the map) at the north end of the said highway from which said stone the east corner of Merry A. Parsons' house bears S. 59 degrees W. dist. 2.88 chains, the southwest corner of H. Then begin- ring on the southeast side of said highway, at the aforesaid west corner of the old church (I on the map) and running thence across part of the church lot or on its front S. 38 degrees W. 65 links to a stone op- posite to the corner between the church lot and the homestead of S. Henry Miller; then S. 25} degrees W. 20.08 chains to the gate post (3 on the map) standing on the southeast end of S. B.
